Ummm... I was the one who actually put up those definitions... looks like oliver forgot to put up the quote tags
And just to clarify... there's a bit of cross-over between the definitions (think of it in terms of the linked Venn diagram below). Some covert operations can also be clandestine (such as in cases when the sponsor's operation and the operation itself is legally concealed; i.e., paramilitary special operations conducted by the CIA's S.A.D.) but not all clandestine operations are covert (such as in the case of clandestine operations conducted solely by DoD personnel). This is why the CIA's National Clandestine Service name is accurate... because the CIA can conduct operations (covert or overt) that are clandestine in nature. Additionally, the details of covert operations (whether clandestine or not) can be hidden from Congress, while clandestine activities of a non-covert nature have to have their operational and financial details disclosed to the appropriate Congressional committees. There's a loophole to all this, though. There's no law that in no uncertain terms prevents DoD personnel from being temporarily seconded to the CIA. Last edited by zuludelta; 02-02-2010 at 10:28 PM.. Nice collection Tank. I see you have a sizeable Star Wars Collection. I've so wanted to buy some of those vehicles. Walkers in particular, but I want to get my hands on a Gunship too but they are $50. I only collect Phase 2 armor. I usually only buy what seems to be the difinitive version of a figure.
I that 2 Blackhawks? I think I have one in Black but I've never taken it out of the box because it seem so big. |

Looks like a BBI Blackhawk to me, just like the Pavehawk below it. They work really well with Joes.

Yeah, as Fogger pointed out, a lot of the helicopters, tanks, BFVs and APCs are either from BBI or 21st Century Toys--all 1/18 scale. They're the pride of my collection. Missing from the pics are my 1/18 scale F-14, F-16, F-18 and UH-1 Huey. There's plenty of other stuff I couldn't get in photos as well, like a Night Raven, a Tomahawk, an earlier-released Republic Gunship (though I would have waited if I knew they were going to update the mold), and of course my BMF. |

Awesome collection Tank
Sorry to digress but going back to your Vietnam project, are you going to use Major Bludd in some capacity? There were lots of Australian SASR soldiers in Vietnam, he could've been a young sadistic soldier at the time. |

That's a good idea Tyroc. I hadn't even considered Bludd. I guess I tend to focus most of my attention on the Joes. I'm still unsure about whether I should use Big Ben as one of the SAS instructors for Mutt's Combat Tracker Team.

Who are all the Vietnam era Joes? I think I know the main ones, but then there are some that most likely would have participated in Southeast Asia at some point. Then one I try to remember is Gung-Ho. No where on his filecards does it mention Vietnam, yet I feel like at some point in the Comics he mentioned something about being there. I just don't have many of the early comics. particularly between 12-26. I was overseas so I missed out that year. Html comics is missing those years.
