I didn't have the fan reaction to those guys (Claymore, Widescope, etc..) as I was just comics-only at that point, no toys. Wasn't until I got here and learned about Claymore and the VvV/Spytroops stuff.

Yeah, I was still buying the toys and reading the comics at that point. Definitely some hit or miss characters in there. Still, an all-new Joe team could have been a lot of fun. Not saying I don't like the older Joes, but it could have been interesting to replace the older characters with new ones and see what happens. For example, I always wanted to have the new team fight the 'noks, just for the heck of it.

So what would make the best unit of replacement Joes? Lets say like a GIjoe Extreme team, but with only named Joes from say 89 and after. 89 is sort of when the Marvel comics started going downhill too. I use to like to think that a new Joe Force would most likely have Beachhead in it as the top Sgt, but what if you couldn't have him?
Major Barrage-for Hawk Red Spot for Flash Hard Drive or Sgt Hacker-for Breaker Lt Barrel-Roll -for well Grand Slam XO and pilot and Sniper Switch Gears for Steeler Long-Range for Clutch Big Brawler-for Stalker Kamakura for Snake-Eyes Dart-for Grunt Med Alert need the medic Mariner or Depth Charge Need a Navy Guy Hollow Point-need a Marine Crosshairs-Why not two snipers? he was one of the better figs Mayday for Scarlett who probably appeared more than Cover girl in the Marvel run. MIssing--- Rollbar; Cannonball; Rampage; Agent Faces; Hi-tech; Hard-Drive; Wide-Scope OK now I have 14 I have no machine gunner though, and I didn't touch the Stars and Stripes "lean" year Crossfire; Surefire; Doubleblast; Thunderwing; Sideswipe; Sidetrack; Wet-Down; and Wreckage It probably doesn't work well like that with a total new start, unless Hama is doing it. I think you would have to transition with some later Joes commanding newer guys. DIC productions did it with Capt Grid-Iron; Ambush; Salvo; Topside; Pathfinder etc. Although that was poorly written all around it was the right idea. Extreme was even worse. |

You know... Major Barrage is artillery, Hawk was artillery....
Think you're on to something there..

The easiest: Doubleblast
Wet-Down too I'm using the Battle Station Roadblock as my default Block. And not sure if use the urban Roadblock or original Roadblock as Doubleblast. Since got Wet-Suit in the 7 pack, using the Target mini-vehicle Wet-Suit as Wet-Down.

I use Urban RB for Doubleblast. DB is also an Electrical Engineer so it seem to fit the look better. Isn't there a WetDown coming?
Clutch's head on 7 pack Outback makes a great BIg Brawler. I use Comic Pack Rock'n'ROll as Hollowpoint We got Rollbar and I use that Snarler Beachhead for Wreckage I took an extra 25th Duke head painted the hair brown put it on the Zartan figure--Surefire Took the extra Zartan head on a Shipwreck body and made Depth Charge. Oh yeah painted the Resolute 5 pack duke's head brown ---Barrel Roll Way ahead of you. Last edited by Loose Cannon; 01-15-2010 at 02:18 PM.. |

The Snarler Rollbar got renamed to Street. Just didn't make sense to me having a guy on a motorcycle named after a vehicles protective cage.
Good idea on the urban Roadblock and Doubleblast as the electrical engineer. Good call. No Wet-Down, as far as i know. The figure that we saw previews of and was called Wet-Down ended up being the Target Mini-Vehicles Wet-Suit.

I took an urban assualt Duke and put an extra Hawk head on him and gave him a thin little mustache for Wet-Down. I use my Snarler Rollbar as Countdown for now. I wanted th recapture some of the space guys. |
