Just rewatched RoC. Liked it more the second time.
At the end, when the Howlers were taking off (and I had missed this the first time) the comm said: Operation: Mongoose Mongoose's are a snake's worst enemy. And it named two bases: Brothers Grimm and Roman Ruin.

So far my Helicopter unit is in 1:72nd scale. Contains 2 Blackhawks (Target and Hobby Lobby versions) and 1 Jayhawk (Corgi). So for a person who barely has 70 troops and kinda want to keep my Force small. So how does this sound, could the secondary seat be filled by someone who has civilian helicopter training? That's how I view Flint (In Chain of Command rather than a military helo pilot), Zap (Marvel Comic Book) and Recondo (Tiger Force)? Makes me wish I picked up Lift-Ticket with GhostHawk when I had the chance. Could someone chart out for me the possible ranks with each armed services of helicopter pilots and how the 2 seats in side by side seating works, are they both pilots, are they flight cdr and pilot, or which one main pilot which is co-pilot... W-1 to W-5, O-1 to O-10 [Army, USN, USAF, USMC, USCG] I finally found out what a CHALK Unit is after days and weeks of searching, guess I gotta find another word for that because not all of the 2 squads combined are helicopter inserted.

In most NATO military helicopters, this arrangement is reversed. The PIC traditionally sits in the right seat, while the co-pilot sits on the left. This has something to do with the controls, from what I can understand, but I'm not familiar enough with the terminology and layout to explain why. Also, I think it's reversed for old Eastern Bloc helicopters. Again, I'm not that familiar with helicopter terminology and usage that I can intelligently explain why this is so. So today was Christmas for my Joe team. The big brown truck came and delivered the Tiger-Rat, Comic 2-packs of Wild Bill, Scrap-Iron, 'Main'frame, Beach Head, Snake Eyes and Hard Master. I also went to Toys R Us and purchased the comic 2-pack of Red Star and Duke, along with back in stock after the christmas rush the true heroes Little Bird.
Im using the Tiger-Rat as close ground support with Red Star as Marine Major Daniel X. Kirby, codename: CACTUS. My other Fixed-wing aircraft is the Sky Sweeper, with Airraid as a Captain. My helo pilots are Capt Nightingale (USMC Casevac pilot), Capt Jason Locke codename: unknown as of yet, for now a green-flight suit pilot (USAF CSR Helo Pilot from Louisiana. the Tiger-Rat Wild Bill w/o vest, with the head of the darker skin-blonde hair Trooper from the TRU Firefly's Set) CWO Wild Bill, CWO Trakker, co-pilots = civilian helo pilots CWO Flint, SFC Recondo, SSgt's Zap and Quickstrike (Quick Kick). So yeah my custom Rotary-wing pilots seem to all be rescue pilots, which I guess work since I dont have any offensive helicopters. So, Lifeline has a Pilot to ride with instead of Lift-Ticket, tho if I get him, L-T will be the pilot in the Air Force, with Locke as his co-pilot. But should I call Jason, Archangel, since he was Archangel's replacement?

I like that use for Red Star. It's hard to use him otherwise, since there are no other Oktober Guardsmen to go with him. Plus he looks so different from the last version of Red Star.

Neat concepts, Takedown. I took the Wild Bill that came with the Dragonhawk, did a headswap, and renamed him Dust Off. For now, I have him piloting my Night Attack Copter.

I still don't have a Dragonhawk :(
But he'll be renamed to Treetop when I get one. Nice XMas gifts Take, lol.

Yeah, the Dragonhawk seems to be a bit hard to find at retail. I think I've only seen it once or twice, and not since I bought mine.

Well you was right, Zuludelta, looking thru one of my dad's old train-modelers books. It had a page in it with a chart, the Scale, and popular products at the time, and converted it to how much was a foot in that scale. I will post it for you if you want, when I get a chance. But O Scale was 1:64th, HO Scale 1:87th, and N 1:144-1:160th.

So for a person who barely has 70 troops and kinda want to keep my Force small. So how does this sound, could the secondary seat be filled by someone who has civilian helicopter training? The company has an HQ and 3 platoons of blackhawks, 5 helicopters per platoon. Since there are 15 helicopters, there are 30 pilots. HQ: Commander (O3) Aviation Safety Officer (W3) - a pilot Aviation Standardization Officer (W3) - a pilot Tactical Ops Officer (W3) - a pilot First Sgt (E8) Platoons Platoon Leader (O2) x 3 - all are pilots Senior Instructor Pilot (W3) Instructor Pilots (W2) x 3 Aviation Maint Officers (W2) x 3 – pilots Aviation Life Support Officers (W2) x 3 – pilots Aircraft Surv Equipment Officer (W2) – a pilot UH-60 Pilots (W2) x 13 Platoon Sgt (E7) Asst Crew Chiefs (E4-5) x 15 Air Crewmembers (E3-4) x 15 Helicopter pilots use their left hand for the collective and their right for the cyclic and in most helicopters where the radios are in the center of the aircraft it makes sense to sit in the right seat so that you can let go of the collective with your left hand and switch frequencies. Military PICs can sit in whatever seat they want (afterall they're in a 2-crew aircraft and the pilot not flying handles the radios and checklists) but usually they sit in the right sit, unless they’re hauling a load and they need to be in a better position to look outside. Also, both pilots take turns flying the aircraft. When one flies, the other does everything else. The Pilot In Command (PIC) is simply the senior of the two, although both are typed in the helicopter and can serve in that capacity. I'm the SIC for my aircraft but only because the airlines only require the Captain to be type-rated and I'm a First Officer. If I were type-rated, I could log PIC time, but since I'm not, I only log SIC time. Hope this helps some. Last edited by Tanksmasher; 01-09-2010 at 03:07 PM.. |
