Could always use Brian Stann as a JOE Marine. Marine Captain and silver star recipient.

Zulu made quite a few Marines in his project. Sparks; Spearhead; and Blizzard stand out in my mind. Col Sharpe too. What about Hollow-Point, Mirage and Mace? |

Hey another Tanker's custom Fridge made me think of something.
What other famous celebrity athletes like Sgt Slaughter and The Fridge should the Joes have recruited? I think Mike Tyson would have made a perfect Joe. Give him a .50 cal and a 100-round bandolier and drop him in the middle of a firefight. Just don't let him talk on the radio because Cobra signal intercept officers would die laughing. (Code name: Knockout) Other Joe recruits: Dennis Rodman (Code name: The Worm) Shaquille (Code name: Shaq) Agassi (Code name: The Punisher) John Daly (Code name: Long John) Barry Bonds (Code name: The Juice) OJ? (Code name: Cold Killer) Nice. Who were all the Joes associated with sports? Like Major Barrage and Checkpoint are wrestlers. Bombstrike likes to play soccer! (Lame) Bazooka Grid-Iron and Red Dog played Football Hardball. (Would also make a great Marine Troynos) I bet if half of Ninja Force competed they may win a UFC championship. CUtter and the girls swim team is one I wish I knew the story behind. |

Off the top of my head (and not including primarily "non-sport" martial artists like Quick-Kick, Scarlett, Budo, Snake-Eyes, etc. or competitive sport shooters like Bullhorn), here are the Joes who have significant experience with certain sports prior to joining the GI Joe team as listed in their filecards (I'm assuming Big Lob will have some basketball mention in his upcoming figure's filecard):
The funny thing is that even though Bazooka is probably the GI Joe most fans would associate with football, his original filecard makes no mention of the sport at all. Last edited by zuludelta; 01-04-2010 at 05:56 PM.. |

What's a martial art or fighting style that involves knives?

Many of the Maritime Southeast Asian martial arts introduce knife-fighting early on in training (many other traditional East Asian systems simply gloss over knife-fighting), with two systems coming to mind as being the most well-regarded:
- The Philippine martial art of Escrima/Arnis (more popularly known as kali in Europe and North America) is generally regarded as one of the better systems for teaching confidence in short-blade handling and knife disarmament. I think it's implied in Torpedo's filecard that he practices this art since it says that he's an expert with the balisong (a.k.a. Philippine butterfly knife). The basic principles of Escrima/Arnis/Kali also form part of the foundation for the current Modern Army Combatives Program and the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center's counter-knife training program. - The Malay/Indonesian martial art of Pencak Silat also emphasizes a lot of knife training. |

hhmmm.... I'm trying to come up with a stronger use for Scarface and the scars on the face led me to think he had taken up knife fighting.

Don't forget the Apache guerilla training and their knife fighting. Warpath would be very upset at you.... His Marvel Universe Figure comes with some sick knives....worth picking up just to get those, and his belt that houses one behind his back.

How's that belt fit on Joes? I know Warpath is a BIG figure.
