I saw those, Troynos. Yeah, they look pretty cool. They reminded me of the time the used the AWE Striker for the Stargate line of toys about 12 years ago. But they also reminded me of the Dino Hunters set with Low-Light and Ambush that TRU did as an exclusive. Because of that, I haven't completely eliminated the possibilities of Dinosaurs from my Joeverse... I'm just saying ;)
Rocky, glad to see you on here. I'm glad to be back, my friend. I'm interested that all of y'all seem to want to use the new PoC Beach-Head as your primary Beach-Head. It's certainly a great looking figure, but he just doesn't look like Beach-Head to me - especially with that Firefly head. With his paint scheme, I can't help but think Tiger Force - and though that would certainly work for Beach-Head, I can't pass up the opportunity to finally have a factory-quality Sabretooth. I'm going to buy a second and send it to Marine Deadpool to add to the team. Just like I'll buy a second PoC Recondo to let him add Digger to the SAS Team. The idea of a factory-quality Sabretooth is just too good for me to pass up.

Beachhead is just so kick-ass, he needs a kick-ass figure.

I don't disagree with that, but I thought all the 25th versions were really good. The HoH figure was great, and the 2-pack with his unmasked head was great. The only problem I had with the figures were his boots. I didn't see any reason for him to be wearing Tanker boots, and that knife sticking out of his boot was a little goofy. Other than that, they were really good figures, with solid accessories.
Now 25th Spirit - That is a figure that desperately needs an update ;)

Agree on the Spirit.

I kind of wish they would update the figures with better versions of the classic looks. Let me see if I can explain. The Resolute and ROC Dukes are obvious updates and very modernized but they are not really updates of the classic styles. And the first 25th Duke is an update of the ARAH Duke but only in articulation and medium.
Here's another way to look at it. I always wanted to see what the original 13 would look like had they been redone in 1985 when characters had a lot more detail to their uniforms. Granted, Rock N Roll and Stalker and Snake Eyes and Hawk and Grunt were redone but not in their original uniforms. Hawk had the bomber jacket and Stalker was in arctic gear and Rock N Roll had some desert/legionaire looking outfit and Grunt...well Grunt just sucked, at least until I swapped out his yellow Legs for a pair from Big Ben (brown version). I'm talking about going with the original conception of a character's look and just making it better. For instance, Grunt and Zap and Short-Fuse should have gotten the Footloose treatment but with different gear and with some unique enough features that they wouldn't all look like generic soldiers, you know what I mean, but they would still be dressed as infantryman. Falcon and Leatherneck and Footloose and Hit N Run are all unique but they have a certain quality in their appearance that the first few years of Joes lacked. Does any of this make sense? I really loved the Tanks for the Memories convention set because Rock and Zap and Clutch and the others had better head sculpts and bodies but of course they were done in a cold weather garb, which was cool, don't get me wrong but what about redoing that "classic" look, and not just for O-rings, but the Modern-era figures.

I don't know if it's possible without pulling a Resolute and matching the vintage look with a more modern update.

Yeah it's probably too late in the game now and it might confuse people but the original 13, except for Stalker and SE, just don't fit in with the other Joes because of their post WWII look. Desert ROC duke was cool and realistic looking but almost too realistic, making him a bit generic. I want that unique individuality in their looks but not overblown either. Damn I wish I could draw.

So how would you re-envision Spirit? A ROC look? Resolute? Or just something more Army-ish? Like lose the blue shirt or the pig tails?
