Thanks, Zulu's concepts have really encouraged me to diversify and do alot more homework, instead of just having everyone be Rangers or Green Berets which is how I used to have them until I joined the Tank.

So, I have decided I'm only having two Accelerator suits. They will be my Crew for RHINO. Heavy Metal [Rampage] of course will drive the ground unit. [SpeedMetal] will be Roundhouse, a docking support crew & weapons specialist. [Ripcord], Im thinking of following zuludelta's and others here lead and calling him Rampage, he will be the RHINO's Helo pilot. Not sure if I want him Officer or Warrant Officer, Any suggestions? Im not sure how the military (Army) transports their Humvees and tanks by train. If they have their own train unit or they commendeer the train or they have the rail company transport the vehicles for them. ZULUDELTA? anyone? I thought Roundhouse would be a good easter egg after my dad's train hobby. His weird habit of speeding up, not to outrun the train, but he would pass the train in order to get set up in a nearby parking lot. To watch the entire train pass by, to takedown the numbers of each engine and sit there until the train had passed. Ive decided to use Gunners Chief Shipwreck and I will make some grey in SEAL shipwreck's beard and make his birthplace: Santa Cruz, California and call him SANTA. Im tired of SEALS being SEA-divers. I think Santa would be an awesome name for a SEAL. Now the PARA-Viper needs a SEAL name. Thought about Kamikura since his body without gear looked like a ninja. But Im tired of ninjas. I liked Snake Eyes as a commando not a ninja way back in the early 80's. With my interest that has sparked by reading this thread and in joes in 'general'. Im thinking of joining the joeclub, is it worth it? Are they 3-3/4" O-ring or the new 4" style? Ive been a tfclub member in the past when I went in 07 to botcon. Sigh, Now I wished I had money a few months ago for joecon, I was less than 3 hours away.

I think they were somewhere in between N scale (1:148) and HO scale (1:87). I always wondered why Hasbro never made Joe vehicles or playsets in those smaller scales to supplement the 1:18 line. Given the realistic cost and manufacturing constraints, something as big as the Terrordrome or the USS Flagg would never look right in the native GI Joe 1:18... they'd inevitably have to be scaled down and look disproportionately small (a properly scaled 1:18 USS Flagg would have to be at least 40 feet long, for example). I'd rather have a bunch of smaller playsets and vehicles that actually look good when placed beside each other and can actually be used on tabletop dioramas. Imagine making a tabletop Invasion of Cobra Island diorama, complete with a Flagg carrying an actual fighter wing, instead of a measly one or two Skystrikers (which was all you could fit onto the 1:18 Flagg whilst still keeping the runway clear) and a bunch of Terrordromes.
EDIT: According to one site, the Megaforce toys were roughly in 1:144 scale. N Scale 1:87th, HO Scale 1:64th Yeah my dad loved trains.

That's a good Shot. Although wouldn't she be Ashika if it were a girl? But more girls would be cool. Happy Thanksgiving to all of us who are celebrating today. I guess Tyroc and Zulu already had your thanksgiving back in Oct. I hope no one has to work today but if you do I hope its overtime pay. |

Sigh, Now I wished I had money a few months ago for joecon, I was less than 3 hours away. Nice setup Takedown. I so want the Rhino, but I already own the DTC one so I'm having a hard time parting with $50, but Heavy Metal is calling me. Is everyone renaming Speed Metal? I don't intend to but I see alot of you doing it. I've been a member of the Joeclub for a while, but recently stopped signing up. It all depends on the Club exclusive. I would always buy it, even at $300 bucks. Although this year I will join again. One for Big Lob. And then I want the Action Man figures that are coming out. One of which will be my Gen Colton. Then if the 15 pack is something awesome it will be a bonus. I too have changed all my SEALs to sort of match the ROC Shipwreck. I keep using that ROC body, but I've used a few others. So far: Torpedo- Clone Trooper head on V1 Snake-Eyes Magnum -Painted Duke head(not ROC) on Tiger Force Flint Link-WWE head on TRU Ripcord body Wetdown- Hawk head with mustache on City Strike Duke Tracker- Blowtorch head on Reactive armor Duke Depth Charge- Zartan extra head on ROC shipwreck Wet-Suit- Extra Steeler head on Rescue Duke body with Pitt Trooper hat Deep-Six - Red Head Green Shirt on ROC ship body with same hat. Don't know about Army Trains although the original Thunderclap was suppose to be a train. |

I only have 1 Overkill, the one which came with the Bat attack pack so it's a no brainer for me. I'll get around to getting the others one day. I was in TRU today and an IG88 caught my eye...might get one as a BAT assembler / fixit or something..
I've never seen the Sigma 6 cartoons :( I have the comic mini series though. Was the cartoon any good? I so want an !G-88 figure not the clone war IG-86, but the suer articulated 88 The cartoon was OK, there wern't that many. |

The Club is alright. Nothing special. YOu really dont save much being an Officer (paying) member at the store, cause their prices are on the high side to begin with anyways.
If you're looking to get any of the older Club stuff it would probably be worth it for the membership. I'll be joining soon so I can get the Big Lob figure and the Action Team stuff. Been no hints at what this Joecon set will end up being. I hope it's somethign cool since I'll be at Joecon this year hopefully.

I dont know if this had been touched upon, but I had the Laser platform GI Joe Artillary placement (dont know the official title of it), in a smaller scale almost hotwheels size in the 80's. Thats the only one I had, there might have been some others and they were in die-cast metal.
N Scale 1:87th, HO Scale 1:64th Yeah my dad loved trains. Quote:
