I don't know a lot about his military history. He's referred to as a "Special Forces guy" in one issue. And he was the captain of the Army Pistol Team.

Troynos, thanks for uploading the Battle Files. After reading both of the U.S. versions, I honestly think the Action Force Battle File is much better - and nothing in the AFBF contradicts what's written in the U.S. version. It seems to me that since Marve/Hasbro both endorsed the AFBF, there's a strong case to be made for the canonical status of the AFBFs.

I think it's interresting that Spirit is a qualified expert with a sniper rifle.

Yeah I liked how DDP treated Spirit. As a character I always liked Charlie, but I outgrew the original figure.

I wonder how the Navy handles that. I mean I can't see the Navy wanting to name a ship after anyone with no military service like Obama or Clinton. But Carter had to wait a lot longer for his Submarine and he was in the Navy! 7 out of the 10 Nimitz class Carriers are named after Presidents only Bush was in the Navy. Carl Vinson, and Stennis I'm not sure except they were on the Naval Affairs boards while in Congress for decades. Gerald Ford is about to get his own class of Carriers, but he was in the Navy. |

How long do they wait to give you a ship named after you? I know here in DC they like to name buildings after famous government figures. The CIA is the George Bush Center for Intelligence. I think they are thinking about naming the Pentagon after Reagan.

So we've talked about SEALs before, but I wanted to know what everyone thought would make the ideal insertion platform for launching a Joe SEAL team onto Cobra island. Here are some possible choices for insertion:
1. CRRC (Combat Rubber Raiding Craft) - capable of being launched from a C-130, helo, watercraft or submarine, this slow-moving (18+ knots), light-range (60 NM) RIB has no armor and little to no organic firepower (1 mounted machine at most), and relies heavily on stealth, silence and darkness to avoid enemy detection and insert its coxswain and eight-man seal team. 2. SOC-R (Special Operations Craft-Riverine) - air-transportable, light and quick, this assault boat has a top speed of 40+ knots, a 195+ NM range and is extremely agile. It carries some ballistic armor, five mounted weapons (M2, M134, M240, Mk19), four crew (1 helmsman, 3 gunners) and 8 seals. 3. SURC (Small Unit Riverine Craft) - this fast, armored, air-transportable RIB (Rigid-hull Inflatable Boat) has a top speed of 40+ knots, a 250+ NM range, 2 crew and carries anywhere from 8 to 16 seals, while packing a slightly softer punch with one to three mounted machine guns. 4. Killer WHALE - this hovercraft offers plenty of offensive and defensive firepower in the form of two dual-barrel .50 calibre machine guns, two anti-aircraft quad missile launchers, and multiple anti-submarine depth charges. Operated by four crew, the hovercraft's moderate speed and amphibious capability make it apt for beach operations, but it can only deploy a five-man seal team. 5. Moray Hydrofoil - the fastest and most lethal boat in the Joe's arsenal--while sacrificing some manueverability--the hydrofoil boasts six M60 or M240 aft gun mounts, a remote-operated .50 cal machine gun, two side 55mm autocannons, a twin-barrel Mk38 25mm chain gun turret, four anti-aircraft missiles, and four anti-submarine depth charges. With five crew, it carries six seals and is limited to deeper water and offshore operations. Last edited by Tanksmasher; 11-20-2009 at 01:30 AM.. |

These first 2 make the most sense for seals, the next 2 can be ideal for heavily fortified beaches with SEAL/Marine assualts and the Moray...meh that is a cobra vehicle I dun care how many times you repaint it and put joes sticker on it 1. Instead of #4 thing I would use an LCAC.... 4.
