That's awesome. An "exchange" with the American Rangers. And training at Sandhurst. That's pretty cool, but wouldn't that make him a regular Officer? Does anyone know how the Brits deal with Warrant Officers? Do they go to Sandhurst too? I thought they were more like NCO's in the British Army.

Those battle file profiles are great. In some ways, they're a lot more detailed than the American file cards. I'm seriously considering incorporating some elements into my Joeverse. Pretty awesome.

But, I had a revelation. The other popular GI JOE quote in the first two mini-series seems to fit any contradiction in the joe-verse. Like they knew that there would be discrepanies in their military usage. Breaker usually messes up and says "Hey nobody's perfect" Duke: "No, but we do O.K." and the unit breaks out in chorus "YO JOE!!!". But Im glad Hisstank is here. It is still fun to discuss & explain different possibilities and try to fill in the gaps.

I think you're right:
United Kingdom and United States military ranks compared - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia What's interesting about those profiles I read were: Snake-Eyes; Spirit both Green Berets Footloose; Hit & Run; SAS Super Trooper was well pure cheese Airtight is GSG-9 but if you read the filecards for some of the Action Force it's pretty bad. |

Interesting. Yeah, I'm thinking Flint will be British in the sequal and people will flip but there is a canon aspect where Flint is British, just depends on if you choose to believe Action Force existed or not.
I may incorporate some of Action Force now.

So I ordered 3 Indiana Jones figures today.
Normal Indy Indy with jacket and tie Jacketless Indy Going to do a couple of head swaps and get some of Colton's old buddies into the mix. Normal Indy (jacket and no tie), will remain Indy and keep his head. Jacket/Tie Indy gets a head swap and becomes Clancy (stealing another idea from Zulu). One of Colton's old buddies that will end up heading up the J.O.E. Intelligence Division. Jacketless Indy gets a head swap and becomes Not Sure Yet, but he'll probably end up heading up the J.O.E. Domestic Opearations Division. I need a good name for this guy. RoC Hawk, was using as Colton, but think I'll make him Flagg and have him head up the J.O.E. Direct Action Operations Division with Hawk as the J.O.E. Special Operations Division commander. The J.O.E. D.A.O.D. (mouth full) probably needs a differnet name. This would be the "regular" army part of the Joe team. The J.O.E. SOD would be the special operations units, the rangers/marines/SEaLs/Special Forces, etc.. Also going to use the RoC Roadblock as my default Roadblock and the 25th version as Double Blast. Got the 4 Wal-Mart Battle Stations yesterday, was pretty psyched to find those.

Royal Military Academy Sandhurst is basically the British Army equivalent of the United States Military Academy (West Point), so for AF Flint to have gone there means he would have to be a commissioned officer after graduation (oddly enough, Sandhurst is not a degree-granting institution, although the training there can be applied as credits towards a university degree or professional licentiate).

Update: So now I made it into the 384 area of this thread. Hama very cool.
So while I was reading these many, many posts and I started to get nostalgic and daydream of when I played GI JOE. When I was a kid my Joes largely outnumbered my Cobras also I had very few friends in the neighborhood to playwith. So when I played JOE by myself, I did alot of daily downtime style playing. So my dad had hollowed out the big 30-40 inch tall wooden cabinet style televisions and stacked them on top of each other and it turned out to be a very awesome gi joe base. I was able to use markers and mark off barracks, gym, armory, mess, classrooms, shower & heads, helo pad, motor pool and out in front was the Parade grounds where they would have formations. Yes I played House with my Joes. No marriages and such, but it was downtime for the joes with 50 joes and maybe 12 cobras. So here is the question, when "YOU" played your 'joe lives' did they take "training leave" to leave to go to certain bases for re-certification that required annual requalification or did you believe they were exempt and just did a equivalent type performanced based style training on base? Also, would the non-military JOE's today be required to at the very least to be Certified for CERT (Community Emergency Response Team).
