Really? Never saw either of those. Although we incorporate a lot of that stuff by reference.

I think our friend Rocky started the DVD commentary thread. It was well intentioned. The other thread was comedic, but pure drivel.

Yeah, it was meant as an homage to this thread but really just about the DVD commentary track. It did not go over so well as the Haters would never admit to listening and the lovers have not got around to it. It crashed and died fast........LOL. Only one "Lurks thread" can survive on the Tank.......like the Highlander would say...."There can only be ONE!"
Hats goes off to Troynos, Oliver and the rest of us that keep it going strong one year later. |

There is one thing I noticed at the end of the G.I.Joe Rise of Cobra dvd, that I missed when I saw the movie. That was when they evacuated the base to go elsewhere. As all the VTOL aircraft were leaving, there was more than one entrance/exit in the sand above the base.

It would have been nice if in G.I.Joe Rise of Cobra the scene with Hawk and Destro after the NATO meeting on the Nanomites had been added. During the convoy scene with Duke and Ripcord it looked like they went by one section that had been filmed in the Irom Man movie. I take it that driving 40 klicks is military for driving 40 miles. I am not sure how fast a convoy drives, but does it take half a day to drive 40 miles. It is either mid morning or mid day when Duke and company get the Nanomites and it is early evening when they reach the 41 mile mark and get ambushed.

BCross, a 'klick" is military slang for kilometer. So, if my math is correct, the convoy drove close to 64 miles on "unimproved roads". If it was fall or winter, it would easily be dark during the ambush if they left in the late afternoon.

Other way around. A Mile is longer than a Kilometer. They went about 26 - 28 miles. something like that.

He's trained like a Marine, sleeps like a Marines, dresses like a Marine. And even photographed like a Marine, but still Navy... One was photographed raising the US Flag over Iwo Jima during WWII.
