I think Hawk alludes to it in the Helix comic.
Somethign I thought about today.. Do the Joes have an intel/CSI kind of unit? A team trained in forensics and investigation? So say a Cobra bunker is taken, this team comes in and sweeps it for clues/intels/etc.. How does that work in Spec Ops anyways? Who would be on such a unit? Would there even be such a thing?

Where's Zulu. He must have the best explanation for this. The new comic seems to have that. Brainstorm, and Scarlet. But I assume there would be more members. Maybe Dialtone as well?

Yeah, I love how IDW handles it.
Also love that they get time involved as well. Flint's there, he calls the Joes, it's hours before they arrive (time to prep the mission, prep transport, get a team together, etc..) and then when they call in Brain, it's hours before he arrives (time to prep, etc..). I love that Dixon factors that kind of stuff in. I think I need to make a Brainstorm figure now.

I know the Marvel series never gave what state Springfield was in, and IDW has shown it to be Illinois, but what if Cobra-Town is every Springfield?
Maybe Cobra has bases in every Springfield in the Country. There's Virginia, Illinois, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts.. Found this on Google: "It's been said (by Bruce Townley, among others) that every state in the USA has a Springfield. This isn't true; 35 states have a Springfield or a close cousin; but the following states are Springfield-deficient: Alaska, Arizona, Connecticut, Hawaii, Iowa, Kansas, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Utah, Washington, Wyoming. (Data from searches on MapQuest) To make up for this, some states have more than one Springfield; the number if more than one is shown in parentheses in the map links below. According to MapQuest there are 52 Springfields, five West Springfields, four East Springfields, four North Springfields, one South Springfield, one Springfield Crossroads, one Springfield Plantation, and one Springfield Gardens (not too far from me in Long Island, New York)." I could easily work this into my Secret Society angle, since the Society helped form the US and can have there being a Springfield everywhere as the Society establishing their HQs in those areas and when they form Cobra, that's where they establish Cobra. However, Troynos, that's not to take away from your idea... every Springfield in America is part of Cobra's network. That's pretty awesome.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before, but this is quite remarkable.
I was totally blown away 24 years ago about the "Birthplace: Wichita Kansas" in 1985 when Flint came out, and a few years later when Lightfoot was released. But get this, This was 1985, a time before the internet... Flint and Lightfoot are words with indian origins, the name of Wichita is named after the Wichitas indian tribe. Also, Wichita has behind the Mid-America All Indian Center, a 50 foot rusted-steel statue of an Indian chief called, 'the Keeper of the Plains' over the meeting of the Little and Big Arkansas River. And I went to a high school where I believed Flint went to high school, The North High Redskins. The school is right beside a river, The bridge there is adorned with indian and buffalo faces. So is Flint, Dashiell Faireborn a pun on the city's FAIR-skinnEd BORN inhabitants with indian origins? It almost looks to me that The 25th filecard artwork that Flint appears to have a pronounced indian jawline. Pretty awesome if he did all this on purpose, for the 2nd in command of the JOE team. Anyway, I think the Rhodes Scholar thing is also an inside joke too. My Dad went to school in Oxford too. Oxford Kansas that is.

I don't think Action Force Flint was American though. I think he's English.
I just got the latest issue of GIJoe, and it's pretty good. Only one new character, but you can see how Brainstorm has already gotten more screen time than half the orignal 13 did. |

I don't know which states the subsequent Springfields were located in, though (how many Cobra-controlled Springfields were there in the original Marvel series? Was the Springfield that the Joes invaded in issue #49 different from the one in issue #10 and #14?) |

Yeah that was the point I was trying to make. The pun of an indian who isnt pure blooded and looks caucasion, with features that could be signs that his ancestors were indian. Like most of the town of Wichita, Kansas.
