Thanks, man. It was funny last night when we found it. We paused the movie, confirmed it, and I said, "Wait 'till I tell the guys on the file card thread about this!" My brother and my wife both laughed because they know how much I post here.

My TRU still doesn't have Bench Press, Snow Serpent, the new SRO packs or the new 5-packs.

Troynos, you're always inviting us up there for Joe Con. How about you just come down here for Joes? You could come for a visit, buy some Joes, meet some guys from the thread. You really need a better TRU, man.

i did a little hunting this morning & found a jungle ripcord + 4 more pit commandos at the second walmart i hit. brings my total on pitties to 10 or 11. so i figure its probably time i actually open one- i hate that stupid little apron! took it off but that ruins the figure so im gonna return as many as i can and use the rest for fodder. really bugs me because it ruins the 2 MP figs in the new 5 pack too. which are still available if any of you are interested. |

But maybe Sommers, when he took the Joe Cliff notes of the whole Joe universe, saw Gung-Ho as a big part and Sgt Slaughter as well. Then combined the two. I wonder if he was at all aware of either Lt Stones from the Joe verse? It seems like Sigma six, was incorporated as well.

Awesome Haul, Tanksmasher. I haven't found CS SE yet, but I did get the one from Target - and I really like that uniform in black. I watched resolute last night, and SE's uniform looked pretty black to me.
I'll say this about Resolute: I know it's cool to see our favorite characters with updated looks. I know it's cool that they're using bullets and really shooting at one another. But it's basically the same plot as usually - Cobra has a device that will destroy the world, and so it holds the world hostage. G.I. Joe has to find their secret bases around the world and stop them. And Resolute isn't funny - at all. The old Cartoons like "The MASS Device" or "The Weather Dominator"... all of them had moments that are genuinely funny. I miss the old Cobra Commander. |

Yeah, the whole MASS device or Cobra's global domination schemes are growing thin. I was disppointed to see that IDW is playing with the "MASS device" idea. They should start out smaller. Once Cobra tries to take over the entire world with some super technology and fails, everything else is small potatos. There's little left for them to attempt if they've already tried the ultimate takeover.
For example, let say Extensive Enterprises tries to reach out to the government in Burma. They offer to help end the struggle with the insurgent rebels if the Burmese government will allow Cobra certain logistical opportunities and political favors. The Joes might have to go to Burma covertly to deal with Cobra. They would probably have to work with the local rebels. It's Joe versus Cobra, but both sides use proxies as a cover. It's a little like Vietnam, but instead of fighting communism by proxy, the U.S. is fighting Cobra.

I sort of doubt it. Even long-time Joe fans, I think, forget about (or are completely unaware of) SAS Lieutenant Cedric Stone from GI Joe Sigma Six. Heck, I'd totally forgotten about GI Joe Extreme's Lt. Stone until I found YoJoe.com a few years ago and stumbled on their GI Joe Extreme page.
Is there a file card for his 2.5" figure? I can't find one on Yojoe.com, so I don't know where you're getting the name "Cedric" from, or the SAS?

Where are you getting Lt. Stone's file name or qualifications? There's nothing in his file card that gives the name "Cedric" and his beret color would indicate the Paras rather than the SAS. One might extrapolate from his 8" file card that he's a member of MI-6, but even that is not explicit.
Is there a file card for his 2.5" figure? I can't find one on Yojoe.com, so I don't know where you're getting the name "Cedric" from, or the SAS? EDIT: actually, double-checking the book, he spelled his name "Cederic," which is either a mispelling of "Cedric" or an exotic alternative spelling of the name. The Sigma Six version is probably intended to be a Para (crimson beret + English accent), not an SAS trooper, as I mistakenly alluded to earlier (for some reason, I remember him with a sand-coloured beret... my mistake).
