I liked how the last Firefly/Zartan poll went, so let's try something new.
We all know Cobra is a ruthless, terrorist organization bent on taking control of the world as we know it, in a never ending battle with the GI Joe Team. This being said, who should be leading Cobra? Should it be the faceless, nameless founder that lost everything only to be reborn as the Cobra Commander? Should it be Destro, the Scottish Arms Dealer, carrying on the Family Clan name and business? Should it be Serpentor, the Genetic collection of warriors and tyrants of old, molded to be the Commander of the future? I personally feel Cobra Commander is the only choice here, with the Cobra Reborn version specifically in mind. This version sees CC as a Middle Class business man who is unfairly taxed by his government, betrayed by his wife and ultimately his country. His response is to recreate himself and begin anew, forging a new world in the process. He is not the cowardly, dimwitted Commander from the animated series, but instead is both smart and strong enough to feel comfortable approaching Destro on a one to one basis, invading his lair to discuss a partnership. He lets Storm Shadow know never to question his authority by knicking him with his own sword, drawing blood in the process. He takes out his own son as punishment, to set an example for those who would betray Cobra. He even warns Firefly to never again draw a weapon him during a surprise encounter. To me, this version of Cobra Commander is the only person fit to lead. Last edited by Steel; 05-16-2012 at 04:13 PM.. |

CC is a pussy. Always screaming "Retreat!!". I'd say that Serpentor would be the better leader.

You can't take Serpentor seriously in that outfit.
Destro got his own troops. CC all the way! |

The only correct answer is Cobra Commander.
Destro is just an enabler. He supplies both sides. Serpentor is the dumbest idea in the history of G.I. Joe. I'll take nano-mites, accelerator suits, weather dominators, and fatal fluffies over Serpentor any day. |

Damn, that's a tough one.
I agree with you on Cobra Commander from the comics. He has the drive to do what he want's and that's to get back at the government. Though, he has no military back ground to lead his men to battle. Serpentor, the idea of making a perfect leader is a little too much for me, even with G.I. Joe's sci-fi aspects of it. I just can't take a guy dressed like a snake seriously. Probably why I like IDW's approach of Serpentor. Destro IS a leader, he has his own armies. Has the biggest advantage being a weapons manufacture and tactical know-how. The man basically lead Cobra when he put Fred VII on the spot. As much as I want make Destro the viable leader, it all comes down to Cobra Commander.
