In many of my posts I've expressed my feeling that G.I. Joe needs more Marines and more officers. Others have expressed their feeling that the Navy has been badly represented. Certainly the Air Force has only contributed it's Pilots without any recognition of the Air Force's Special Operations Teams. And the Coast Guard only has one representative in the whole G.I. Joe team. What kind of service member would you like to see represented in G.I. Joe? Would you like to see more International members like from the British SAS, Paras, or SBS? Would you like some spies from C.I.A. or MI6?
If you could tell Hasbro to design a new character, with any type of uniform, any qualifications, and any specialty. You can even give them a code name and a home town, but please take the time to explain your choices. In short, it's just like the old Steel Brigade, except this time you decide what the figure would look like. I'm interested to hear what y'all come up with.

Great idea but is this related to custom figures ?
Sounds more like Gen. discussion. Again great idea I'm not knocking it, there's just a lot of topics on this site that start out in the wrong category.

You're absolutely right, and I guess I'm just so new at starting threads that I didn't realize it was in the wrong place. Is there a way to move it over to the correct area, or would I need to re-start it? Thanks for your help. I didn't even see the problem.

Ya try pm'ing a mod to move it (or they'll do it on their own in a while).
But ya, you'll probably get way more discussion/ideas in the 25th/modern era or Gen. Dis. forums.

I'd like to see more international representation. Yes, it's a real "AMERICAN" hero, but they do deal internationally since Cobra is a global terrorist organization. So more people from other countries branches would be good to have, give the team some global representation.
More Air Force Special Services (btw, that's what the team from Transformers was, Air Force Special Forces, I don't know what the unit name is, I'm sure someone will). I voted for more Coast Guard, I don't think they are as much Special Forces as the Rangers, SEALS and all that, but they do play an important role in our military. These are the guys that are domestic soldiers. Technically, the military does not operate within the US borders. The Joe team is an exception, but some of the branches that do operate within the borders should be represented: Coast Guard, ATF, National Guard, Homeland Security, etc.. The addition of SWAT agents was a good start in that direction.

Ever see what the Poles, Czechs and Danes have going for them? Let's see some Filipino and South Korean Special Forces troops. |

More Air Force Special Operations members for sure.
In fact, Air Force Special Operations are a must have of any spec opts teams. The Joes need a Combat Air Controller. I can't believe the Joe team doesn't have one already. They also should have a Air Force Pararescue, (PJ). I know they sort of have one with Lifeline, but they should still have a PJ on the Joe team. I also think some people from the CIA would be cool. Or would it be the other way around, some of the Joes would sometimes work for the CIA. GI Joe should be made up of only American servicemen and woman. It would be cool to start an international group, but it should be a different group. Sorry, but the Joes are American. Last edited by stburr91; 11-03-2008 at 07:33 PM.. |

Wouldn't Bombstrike qualify for a Combat Air Controller?

The Joes have worked for the CIA before. Issues #5/6 of Marvel, a couple of Special Missions. They never liked the experience.

I voted Air Force but I am a little bias as my father and grandfather served in this branch of the service. My grandfather was in when it was still apart of the army during WWII.
I would like to see as others have already posted earlier that they develope the special forces version of the Air Force and have a couple of the rescue specialists as well. Both of these groups are really bad a$$es. As for colors on the uniform I have always liked the tiger version from Viet Nam. The coast guard never really did much for me but I understand that they play apart in protecting our water ways as well as rescue |
