Lots of companies use systems where an order can not be modified once it has been placed (VerizonWireless for example) the rep enters the order and send it off (or you enter it on-line and send it off) you get an order confirmation # that is qued up to the distribution center... once there it is in the process of being filled (may be a month to be filled or whatever... but it's sent) that order is gone and can not be changed (sometimes an e-mail can be sent to the distribution center asking for a change but it is very rare to be accepted because that's not what the ordering system was designed to do.. why not? probably because of the xtra work-load it would be to go in and change thousands of orders everytime someone decides to alter something they didn't think through...) it's more than just a rep adding 1 figure, there's more to it than that or it wouldn't be such a pain to change. At least now you know for future orders to make sure it's 100% what you want.

And on-topic all I'll say is some other online retailers don't seem to have a problem with order combination. While there's likely a legit technical reason (to go along with the corporate apathy towards anything that isn't accounting)
for sites not doing so, it just makes the sites that do stand out a bit more. Customer service FTW.

You have to consider that there are several hundred orders placed every day. Those orders are tracked and recorded by transaction #, not by name. I sell glasses and when someone comes to pick them up and I don't know if they purchased more than one pair, they'd have to tell me unless both orders were out of the lab consecutively, and I work with only dozens. It would be nearly impossible for them to ensure everything was shipped together and no duplicates were shipped. It may not make sense to, and it may seem like a lack of customer service, but they have to ensure quality control while minimizing the labor costs of someone condensing order after order. They don't make anything off the shipping, so it's not like they're trying to screw you. If you were so upset that you stopped using HTS, the figures would just end up selling to someone else. It sucks, but it's the truth.

It does suck, but from an inventory point of view, if that happened all the time, they would have no way to keep track of what they had in stock.
Of course I say they would have no way to keep track of their inventory like the don't already have that problem...
I ordered a Para-viper and Mutt, plenty in stock and I got two Wraiths instead, hahaha, and those are sold out. Too bad I didn't get a clear Wraith.
I just returned them in their box with the return label and will hope those Wraiths get exchanged for the Para Viper and Mutt I wanted.
