I was at Toys R us yesterday minding my own business. I was admiring the impressiveness of the F-22 Raptor for 25.00 and debating on some of the other True Hero things. There wasn't anything new in the Joe section so my attention was elsewhere. Out of the blue, i heard this kid lash out "BUY ME THIS TOY RIGHT NOW!!!" At that point I had to find out what the hell was going on. He then started crying and ranting "NO BODY LOVES ME, EVERYONE HATES ME... I NEED THIS TOY!" The kid had 2 toys in his hand and had 3 parental people around him. They told him he could have one.. and oh lord... he threw himself on the floor screaming and ranting the same crap over and over. This went on for 20 minutes at least. My wife was buying Christmas presents for our daughter that's why I was there forever. When it was all said and done, the kid ended up with both toys and had a pacifier in his mouth and he had to at least be 6 or 7 years of age. Now this kid may have been a mental case... but my question is, Has anyone witnessed this sort of anger and outburst from children??
Trust me... if I see Waves 10, 11, and 12 all at once at Wal Mart, I will be throwing this fit because I can't afford all 18 + figures!! |

He probably did it because he knew he could get away with it.

I would never have gotten away with that kind of freak-out when I was a kid. As soon as I started screaming, my mother would have taken me out to the car and beat the sh*t out of me.

not with my kids. i'd drag them by thier arm out of the store before giving in to behavior like that. they know it's not an idle threat either as i've picked them up over my shoulder and carried them out of the store kicking and screaming before. that doesn't happen anymore as a result.

One day, when I have children of my own, I will never, ever take them into a toy store. It is insanity to think that you can bring a child into a toy store, and not expect some sort of temper tantrum. My best advice to you fathers out there is to order toys online for your children so that you can provide them with the toys that they want without exposing yourself to the screams and tantrums in the aisles. |

I have seen kids cry.. but this act was totally unheard of. I mean the parents or whatever they were... didn't even bat an eye, didn't try to reason with him or anything. I have a 3 yr old daughter and she will be 4 this December and we take her to Wally and TRU and she wants things... but never acts like that. I think my mom slapped the taste out of my mouth one time when I was 10 for dogging her over a toy. If I woulda done that to my dad... I wouldn't have an ass because it would have been beat off or I woulda had a REDASS for the next year!!
