| I'm sorry guys, but you are really dropping the ball here. Have you ever read the JoeCanuck newsletter? I have (although I have not yet read the latest issue that started this). It typically has reviews of old figures/vehicles, information from Hasbro, a Dio Story, and other interesting articles. So how is it not news that the latest edition is published? Anyone who's read it, enough said if someone comes on here and posts the new issue is up. Those who haven't, well their loss if they don't follow the link and read it.
Your policy doesn't make any sense to me. Why don't you want me coming here watching for an announcement of the latest newsletter? You'd rather I spend my time browsing the JoeCanuck site or watching for the announcement on one of the other boards?
And you solution to restrict all of this to a single thread? Sorry, but I don't want to follow a thread that will grow to 50 or 200 pages over time to try to spot the news I want. I scan the thread titles that have been updated since my last visit. Restricting these updates to a single thread? That's a horrible solution.
I agree with others, admit it was a mistake to censor the JoeCanuck newsletter and maybe you can salvage this mess. I've only been involved with Joe Forums for the past few months, so I have no history of which board likes which or doesn't. I just have a major problem with heavy handed censorship by forum mods, and that is what this is.
Edit: One last point... and you can verify this with my wife if you want. I read/post on about half a dozen forums other than this. However, the time I spent on all of them combined is less than the time I have been spending here the past few months. My wife rolls my eyes when I say I just need to check the Tank quick. With this 'clarification' of your moderation policy, I'll be spening my time elsewhere. No need to come here if I know I'm getting a filtered view of things. I have no problem if you want to mod a post that only directs someone to a site that is selling something (after all, that is free advertising, right?). But a newsletter? Still can't believe that you are trying to justify that decision.
