My Popular Characters I Didn't Like :
Serpentor - I loathed him... Sgt Slaughter - I didn't hate him as much as Serpentor, but I'd much rather haved watched Duke or Flint leading the troops.... B.A.T.s - Never cared for them either... Storm Shadow - I dunno, I just didn't care for him... |

Not sure if these guys count as popular but my most hated Joes are a toss up:
Captain Grid Iron: He has Football bombs & talks in FB terms Zandar: Very gay. Very lame. Very, very gay. On another note the lamest character ever has to go to Raptor. He is so ridiculous it makes him awesome!!! Now that's a character I would love to see in 25th style! He is right up there with Crystal Ball, I loved both of those figures when I was a kid. |

I never understood the appeal of Sgt Slaughter. Seriously. Never. And this was re-enforced by giving him so much screen time in the movie. Just awful. His lines like "at ease, disease" and something about a ditty bag still just makes me shudder.
Never was a big fan of Shipwreck either, but nothing like the Sarge. |

But for me it's Zartan and the Dreadknocks. I don't know why everyone is going crazy for his Wave 11 figure update either. LOL. |

Man, wow. All these hated Joes and Cobras. I liked most of them, or at least I could see a point to their specialty. And often the Comic version was so different from the Cartoon version that between the two I could find one that I really liked...
Except for Quick-Kick. No Shirt, No Shoes - No Service. Yo Joe? No, Quick-Kick. More Like: No Joe! He was the most pointless Joe of all time. If the Joes wanted a former Hollywood Stuntman, how about Lee Majors from "The Fall Guy". He was pretty cool. Or maybe it was because there was a shortage of Martial-Artists? Yeah, that was probably it.

I read through this thread completely. A lot of interesting choices. I'm trying to think in terms of popular Joes I can't stand, so with that in mind…
Snake Eyes--- I try to understand it, but I don't. He's mute, he's a ninja, and he's unstoppable. What's the draw? I don't care if he's a commando or a ninja, the character just doesn't appeal to me. I also hate his background in the comic. He's stuck being the tragedy guy and I find that soo not compelling. Storm Shadow--- the prototypical badguy flips sides guy. The concept is bad because he was just trying to get to the bottom of his uncle's death, he wasn't really in it for global conquest. Mercer came along and flipped sides because he came to dislike the Cobra philosophy, so he surpassed SS as a side flipper. Hasbro has been running from SS's history ever since the Joe revival, thus he loses even more credibility. The Original 13--- the collective of them, always viewed them as a historical footnote. The figures are bland for the most part, the characters have been surpassed by far more interesting guys on the Joe team. Tracker Kwinn--- you know, I hated this bozo reading the Joe comic, its like, get back to people that matter, not some guy who goes on and on about weasel spirits, and come on, Baroness is the reason he and SE ended up at the bottom of that river, not Dr. Vemon! October Guard--- GIJoe, a Real American Hero! I don't care about relics for the Soviet Union. These people are obsolete, they are just a side note in the Joe vs. Cobra conflict, and the entire thing came off as cheesy. If I hear comrade one more time… |
