No brainer. Get it signed. It will be worth much more.
If you're worried about the signature "ruining" the artwork (how it would, since the signature is really an enhancement, I don't know), then have him sign it on the back. Personally, I think the signature would only make the artwork that much better. BUT.. if you're worried about potential resale value.. DO NOT GET IT PERSONALIZED. No "to so and so..."

If he'll sign it.
I was a huge wrestling fan years ago. I stood in endless lines to meet wrestlers and get things autographed. Specifically a folding "steel" chair. Several dozen wrestlers were happy to sign it. A few refused and would only sign photo's or their own books that you had to buy at the event. If it were me, I'd take the MOC figure and try and get it signed, and I'd try to get a picture of he and I, with him holding it. That way if you do decide to sell later on, you have some kind of proof it's a legit autograph. |

I have seen I don't know how many MOC autographed Rowdy Rody Pipers that have been personalized to someone sell on ebay for $400+ time and time again, I don't think the autograph would hurt the resale value but getting it personalized to you might if you end up selling it sometime down the road. I'd say get it signed and a pic of him signing it and if you can with both of you and the signed item both for yourself and if you do end up selling it, those would surely help if someone is iffy on buying it because they don't know if it is real or not. Can't hurt for sure no matter which way you look at it.

of course get it signed. Have a picture with him doing it too so you have proof of authenticity.

I'd get it signed. Had a chance to have my masterpiece VF-1J signed by Tony Oliver (voice of Rick Hunter from Robotech). Totally worth it. Definitely my most prized possession in my collection. I thought it was awesome but a friend of mine told me that I'd have less of a chance to sell it if I ever wanted to because it was personalized to me, rather than just his signature. Personally, I'm glad it was signed to me. We had a long conversation about his career in animation and the impact Robotech had on me as a kid. I'll never forget it.

Go for it. I like the suggestion of getting it signed on the bubble, keeps the card art clean!

I wouldn't do the bubble, too easy to rub off of the plastic.
Do it across the "Joe" logo or on the back.

Actually...I read an article where it says that signatures are fine but having it personlized ruins the value
