Sorry if this is the Wrong Thread.
Ok guys I know alot of you collect Vintage Joes. I do as well and have several MOC ones, but I think that will change soon. Anyways the figure have dropped tremendously. In the last month I have gotten great deals. Just two days ago I bought a Chuckles Moc for 50.00 and a Deep Six for 25.00. Crimson Twins for 150.00 and the list goes on. Has anyone noticed this as well. |

people arent spending as much as they used to. Plus a lot of people are shying away from ebay. Times are rough for some people right now, and with the holidays coming up and what not people arent dropping a cool G for a moc snake eyes like they used to

It is real nice to see. I think Im gonna shy away from the Mocs for good. I can buy them at several sites loose and complete and store them nicely in plastic cases. Saw a collector here who has alot fo his like that and I reall liked the way they looked.

Probably, but I still see outrageous prices on the vehicles too.

I'm sure the fact that a lot of people are buying the 25th line instead is making a big difference as well.

With this economy (there are a lot of layoffs), people are less willing to splurge on big ticket items. So you would see a drop in prices.

Yeah, the price drop combined with the 20-30% Microsoft CashBack on Buy It Now items has been a godsend. I've amassed a really nice AFA sealed collection because of it. Slaughter, Serpentor, Slaughters Marauders full set of figures and vehicles, LNF Tripwire, and the list goes on. It's a good time to collect vintage.

I agree with the price decrease. I just got a complete Duke and Airborne version 1 for $17 shipped! Usually you'd pay that much just for Duke!? Later!

It's also the way the collector's market goes. Every once in awhile there will be a frenzy of activity that will drive the prices up. In this case, it was the advent of the 25th line got alot of people's nostalgia kicking into high care and they went vintage crazy.
With these frenzy's, you see more product entering as people that had been holding onto their collections see the prices and start getting involved in it. More product, means over time the prices start to drop. The other thing that happens is that, over time, the frenzy dies off. People get in hot and heavy at the start and after they get what they want, the demand starts to lessen. So the longer you get from the frenzy start point, the less demand there is at the time, and the prices will drop. Another couple of months, and the prices will probably drop again. Or they could start to rise as another frenzy develops with Resolute and the Movie coming out. It's the nature of collecting.

Or better yet, ask any long time Star Wars collector, thats the way it works. When Episode I was about to come out the prices for Star Wars figures went straight up, then leveled off after Episode II. the Hype was the greatest before episode I, but died down as the movies came out, no you can buy most figures for a reasonable price on ebay. |
