yes. In the afternoons.
In the morning (openings) and at night (stock time) it's heavy breathing fat dudes that scamper off when they see someone else looking at the joes. I've seen a ton of kids buying transformers animated, though. And since tf is my first love, it's just great to see kids still squealing things like "this one is bumblebee! He's the fastest. I like him the most, but also prowl!" at their parents 25 years later. That's probably my biggest hope for the gi joe movie. I want that thing to be a colossal success with children. I could care less if it "gets it right" and suits my tastes (i'm older now. A gi joe movie would require lots of blood and over the top violence and a baroness/scarlett girl/girl softcore porn scene to hold my interest.). I just hope it ignites a firestorm of people getting back into gi joe, by selling huge numbers to kids, prompting a resurrection of the classics being en vogue (expanded 25th line, special edition "classics" using the 80's molds (oh please oh please oh please)) a spin-off cartoon, new properties, new comics, release of the old series, etc. That transformers movie has done so much for collectors, whether they like the movie or not. And the best part is the undermining of scalpers. All of the remakes and encores and all that positive buzz from the movie really got transformers moving again. I haven't seen many kids in the toy aisles period, but have seen a few select GI Joes.

I've never seen anyone but me in the toy aisle. It's always kind of odd. But they rarely restock joes, we have way too many Vipers, Wild Bill, and Flag Dukes to actually put new stuff out.

I finally saw a kid pick through Joes(actually 2) after all this time of seeing a bunch of older guys going through them. The first was at Walmart I say he must have been 10 or 11 years old.I saw him sifting through all the Joes looking all sad he must have been looking for someone. He did pick out from what I saw a General Hawk another figure I couldn't make out and 2 comic packs. At this moment I felt so bad and guilty it made me think when I was a kid I had my choice of pickings and there were no men in their 30's driving around in their SUV's from store to store early in the morning competing with one another to get the Joes first. There was no internet like it is now fueling scalpers to gobble everything up to make a quick buck online. The second kid must have been about 4-6 years old and very hyper he grabbed a Ninja-Ku from Target he must have chosen that because it was a ninja(now if we can only convince kids Cowboy helicopter pilots are cooler) but then his mom gave the old Joe-block and told him he couldn't have it because it cost too much for such a little thing,he begged then his older brother about 14 trying to be cool and staring at a Cobra Rattler said that it was a waste of money.I felt bad for the little bugger I wish I could have bought him that Ninja-Ku but I'm sure his mom would have freaked that a complete stranger wanted to buy her son a toy.I hope I find more kids like this since this is the only way for this line to survive and especially now with all the revision cases flooding the pegs we need these kids to buy them up so we can see a good supply of Wave 10,11 and beyond on the pegs

agreed, we need kids to buy up the crap so the stores will continue to order the waves and allow the line to flourish. How can I convince young children to play with GIJOE? Im 22 and if I talk to other peoples kids Im either trying to sell them drugs or molest them....
I was in the toy aisle, and thought about asking a random kid "hey, do you even know what these GI Joes are?" Then I thought about the consequences, as I was unshaven and in my mid-twenties in a toy aisle, and said "Nope. Not going to do it." |

Last year I wanted to donate Joes to Toys for Tots during the Christmas drive. Unfortunately at that point that was when you could never find Joes in stores. My plan was to seed Joes out there for kids to get interested in them.

I've never even seen a kid LOOK at Joes up here. Its only ever collector I run into. Its sad, but Hasbro should realize that no matter what they do, unless they try to re-do the 80s launch, this will remain a collector driven line.

my friend and i and my younger relative went to toys r us. i dont look too old but my friend looks much older than i am. and then theres my younger relative. he went there for legos/ rubrick cube. then we eventually got to the gi joe ailse. the only one he knew was snake eyes, and storm shadow(likes ninjas i guess) i got snake eyes for him. the older women around me, my friend, and a relative pointed at us made us feel kinda weird. plus we went to fool around in the dolls section and press all the buttons and see the "scary reaction" we watch too many horror movies so the dolls kinda related. the older women followed us and still pointed.
