Live action GI.Joe movie 1994

What happend with this project? I remember reading about it back in the day in post box pitt. This is all I found about it on the web

"Back in the eighties and early nineties, there were plans to produce a G.I.Joe Movie and several scripts were commissioned. However, it never proceeded past script stage. In 1994, Lawrence Kasanoff's production company, Threshold Entertainment, held the rights to do a G.I.Joe Movie - but instead chose to concentrate their efforts on their Mortal Kombat films."

Any one else have any more info about this? Have any of those scripts leaked ect...

Agreed!

good decision for Threshold. why make a Joe movie at the time when the brand was dying?

espescially when they could kill off a good video game instead lol

I don't know. Were they thinking a movie could help relaunch the line?

kind of like the fantastic 4 movie they made and advertiesd in the early 90's that just vanished

They made that to secure the rights to make ANOTHER fantastic 4 movie. Dumb I know, but it's whats called an ash can copy (thanks wikipedia). Did the 1994 joe movie get that far in developement?

Do any of you remember the live action GI JOE commercials? That was more my era.... sad to say. Re-issues of all the good ones in weird ass uniforms.
