For the ones here who ever actually played with their joes. Who were your 'impossible odds' joes and why?
I would always set up all the forces of Cobra around the room in full strength and have a small infiltration and assault team go in and destroy them all. My team would always include, and sometimes ONLY consist of Outback and Quick Kick. They were actually Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee. Cobra stood no chance.

My Joes always won! Because that's what the cartoon told me always happened when the Joes and Cobra fought. I was a sucker for the good always prevailing over evil thing as a kid. I ate it up like soup.

Would depend a whole lot on what figure I was into at the moment. For instance, after I read GI Joe issue#11 (the original marvel run) I was on a huge Gung ho kick. When Grand Slam stomped Major Bludd in issue #17, he was the man for a while. Same with the toon. Duke had his moment as well as Flint,Shipwreck, and Mercer.
Every now and then I would use a figure that I just liked the look of and he would get his "hero" time.... For some reason, when Torch was released, I loved that figure and he turned on cobra more than once and sided with the Joes.... |

Outback was the one I would tend to turn to in later years. Before that, it was more of a full team effort.

As a kid my impossible mission joes were my Night Force Outback, Night Force Crazy Legs, Hit n Run, and Tunnel Rat. When these four teamed up there was nothing the couldn't do!

The Joes pretty much always win over here. The individuals with the best records in my apartment are...
Best Joes -Stalker -Spirit -Snake Eyes (of course) Best Villians -Zartan -Rex (the Baroness' weird gimp "ninja" brother) -Shadow Tracker Worst Joe -Kamakura (dies every mission) Best Independant -Storm Shadow

me and a friend would pile all our joes up and take turns picking out our team members from the pile.
then we would spend the next hour or so setting up for battle. some times i would stash one of myfigures in my friends set up for a secret strike for when the game started. after the inital set up. we each take turns killing or blowing up 1 figure or vehicle from the others set up. usually before we get halfway threw our battle one of our moms usually sends us home due to dinner is ready. i have never been a big fan of the joe team.so pretty much any badass looking cobra guy got the victory.

82 SE; once he killed off all my brothers forces without firing a single shot. The fact that he is all black was also über cool.
84 Firefly; you did not want to mess with this mofo! 88 IG; when he first came out, he was so cool and so different. I remember him taking on 5 of my brother guys at once and owning them all! Those were the days lol |
