It all has to do with supply and demand as always.
I remember when the Transformers Movie Concept Camaro Bumblebee came out. I got one at Target for the retail price of $9.99. There were 2 more on the pegs that I left for others. When I got home that night I checked Ebay and they were going for over $50. I could have made some money on the other 2 and basically got mine for free plus that profit. I'm no scalper though and I'm too lazy to list things on Ebay, box them up, and then have to ship them out. A few weeks later they were everywhere. It's pretty sad that some people are willing to pay that much over retail for something they want, but I guess if they have the money to do that then so be it. The thing that I really don't understand is when someone pays a crazy amount of money for a figure before it comes out. I see people bidding over $100 on Transformers that will retail at $9.99 in a month or so. To me that "I have to have it first" attitude is crazy, but hey I'm not rich. I guess if I was I really wouldn't care either. Then again maybe you have to be born rich to think that way. If I became rich at this point in my life I still might go about purchasing things as if I was still poor...LOL. The thing I really hate about collecting is when you put off buying something that was out on the pegs everywhere and now is gone. Then when you want it the prices are so jacked up on Ebay it's not worth it. I wasn't collecting the DC Universe Classics figures when they first came out. I didn't get into them until Wave 3. Now that I'm collecting them I want to get an Aquaman figure from Wave 2 but he is no where to be found in stores. Ebay has them going for $25-$45 but I'm not going to pay that much for a $10 figure. Oh well maybe one day I will be lucky enough to find one out in the wild, or maybe a fellow fan can hook me up.

I think some of the revision packs are gonna be some serious peg warmers. I am already seeing some CC's, Hisstank drivers, IG Destros, and great GOOGLY MOOGLY an assload of Python Patrol Soldiers. No wonder we don't have Wave 10 on the shelves yet!!

I had an Old Bob! Him and the red one... Maximillion or something? They spent most of their time as rivals to C3PO and R2, though. heh

I can't swing a dead cat without hitting a whole mess of Rattlers/Conquests, Vipers (25th foil), Hiss Drivers (25th foil), and DVD packs (wave 1), Wave 1 Vehicles, and EVERYONE with a non-foil card.
I got BATs and Armor CC's coming out of my ass. But you know the real pisser? The one guy I wouldn't expect to have ever sky-rocketed in value, Flint, is going for $50 on eBay. The 25th foil Flint, the big pegwarmer from that wave, is suddenly a hot item. I damn near broke my neck rushing to grab Shipwreck because I was so sure he'd be impossible to find because certainly everyone loves Shipwreck. I guess I just don't have my finger on the pulse of the Joe Collector Community. The damnedest things become the inexplicable super-hot items.
