We all know about americas financial crisis, w/ all these falling stock prices, banks going bankrupt, and the $700Billion dollar bail out which is going to hurt the taxpayer.
The reason I ask this, is because I went into Wal-mart today at around 4:00pm and proceded to the toys. I was shock, I saw the Firebat, cobra fang and claw pack, and the awe stricker w/ leatherneck and I looked at there comic book packs and happend to find a black head destro varient, was this all a dream. Because, I was suprised to see these at wal-mart especially at that time of day, because usally when I go to wal-mart all I find is peg warmers which I did, revision wave single packs still warming the pegs, but I scored the new vehicles and the black head destro variant. So I was wondering why havent a scalper came along and scalped them up already. My guess is they don't have any money, the scalpers mastercard is probably drained all out and know one buying the way the economy is people are losing money. So I say this is good news for the collector, because the scalpers are not making any money right now because know one is paying the high prices they are asking. Except for suckers who are paying over $100.00+ Wraith variant which in my book is not worth it and is way overly hyped. So the slumping economy has helped the collector find what he is looking for for right now and not having to worry about scalpers buying it all up. Take advantage of it. it would only seem to make sense that if collectors are cutting back, this in turn makes it harder for scalpers to make a profit thus cut back as a result

if you don't have customers, then how can you make money?
i guess the customer base will go down, and the demand will go down.

take this one step further... demand slows, scalpers slow down, hasbro does nto cut production levels quick enough and we end up with large quanities of shelf warming end of 08 waves leading to cut backs in 09 waves, etc. could this also mean bad news for the future of this line? retorical question really as we all know it does...

oh yeah. it could mean bad as well. i expect a slow down on buying trend of a lot of collectors, not just joes alike.
cutting down on any toys, would mean the pegs and shelf will warm. even parents will think twice if they're gonna buy their kids some bakugan or ben10.

Maybe they just put them out. Not everything gets stocked late at night or early in the morning,

No, I don't think so. But I am fairly confident the lack of new stuff on the shelves here is not entirely due to scalpers. It is due to other collectors and old stock choking the pegs.

Thing I've been noticing is as the new stuff hits the stores there's no ebay auctions. Usually there's like 3 pages of scalper auctions as soon as the newest waves hit CA. But now there's only a handful. I thought it was really odd that there were only 3 Transformers Universe Stormcloud auctions and only 1 Star Wars Transformers Grievous & TIE Bomber auction.
Also the new Star Wars Transformers were just hanging in Target. Only 2 days after the 1st sighting & I casually stroll into the store & just pick them up. It's friggin weird I tell you! |

I have been going to my local HEB store looking for Wave 10 since that's where they are hitting here in Texas. Today I went there and saw the same 7 figures that have been there for 3 weeks. My friend went there and came back and said that a BAT was on the shelf!!! I think a scalper bought it, thought he would make a killing and then brought it back for a refund when he did not. I then proceeded to chew my friend out for leaving a BAT alone on the shelf for yet another Scalper to pick up and try his luck.
