I've met a few people, one guy I speak to frequently and we text each other about stuff, but I'll say about other folks I meet if I'm trying to get a sought after thing, I rarely make conversation, with strangers, not to be a dick but just because I like the same thing as someone else does that automatically make us friends, he could be a scalper from Frank and Sons (to those who don't know, its a weekly flea market in the L.A. Area). I'm sure as hell not here to help them out. You never know.

Most of the time, It's a lonely hunt, which is cool, I guess, since there's no one to directly complete with. But whats funny is, the people that I have met that are cool and will hold a conversation with me, turn out to be 'Tankers. The guys that give me the stink eye and blow me off are usually the scal--um, store owners.
I've done the early morning "wait at the front door until opening" thing, and man those are flat out uncomfortable. It's just five minutes or so of an uncomfortable silence. I tried to engage the other collectors in a little smalltalk; but that goes over like a fart in church.

Rarely, do I see other Joe collectors. I see more scalpers than I do though. When I do see peeps in general looking for Joes, some are just not people person! I sense a display of shyness or somethin? While others actually initiate small convo and help with what you're looking for too.

I met Echo7solo at a WM while we were both on a Joe hunt. He gave me the heads up about the tank & since then, we try to help each other out when we can.

Know thy fellow collector is my motto. ESPECIALLY if he/she is in your area. Here around Indy, we are building a growing network. Typically when I meet another in the asle, I stick out my hand and introduce myself and ask if they are a member of the online community. Typically they just want to know that they are not the only one who collects. Don't be a loner or reckloose. Network people....this is how you find product and make new friends.
