Do you see the 12" Joes from the 1960s as the "golden age" of GIJoe? I read somewhere recently that some referred to ARAH as the "silver age" of GIJoe.
Since we have so many reused 3&3/4" molds, where and when do you think that silver age ended, if at all? VvV? DTC? Is the 25th considered a new age for GIJoe, or do you think that won't start until the movie figures, or not at all? What's your take? -PJ |

Great topic Obi!
I think that by that rationale, 82-94 would be silver age sgt. savage, extreme, and even the 2001 stuff I can't even classify? I would say spytroops, vvsv, and dtc would be bronze age maybe? and the 25th stuff I equate to "neo-classics" much akin to the transformers classics line last year. I agree, the '82-'94 ARAH line is the Silver age (I actually think '82-'91 would be specifically. By '92, the character designs were awful for the most part.)

i was just thinking about this the other day. Welcome to the bronze age. The 25th is a whole new level of gi joe. Lets just hope they have a worthy run.

All I know is that I'm a 'gold' woman.......but I'd settle for 'platinum' as well........;)

I'm guessing that in years to come, collectors will see '94 as the end of the silver age with a lot of "false start" attempts to bring the line up to its former glory, then 25th will get things up and running with something more consistent.
Prolly a year from now, I'll eat these words too. :p -PJ |
