I've finally reached that point where I'm being overrun by my Joe collection. I have no place to store and display what I have. I know I'm going to keep collecting and filling in the gaps but something has to go. I'm not trying to sell anything just yet but wanted to get an idea if there is a demand for the VvV, Spy Troops and DTC figures. I'm thinking of letting these figures and vehicles go and just sticking strictly to the vintage and 25th era Joes.
My question is how do you guys/gals manage your collection? Do you buy anything and everything GI JOE or just limit yourself to what you feel is essential? I'm not even sure if there is a demand or need for the figures that came between ARAH and the 25th. What would be the best route for weeding this stuff out? I have no nostalgic attatchment to 75% of this stuff (I'll end up keeping the figures that were repainted from the original molds but that's about it) and just need to clear it out. I have a feeling trying to get rid of this stuff will be like trying to get rid of (new generation) Star Wars figures. |

as far as managing goes, i don't buy everything. my collection is pretty character driven. pretty much Cobra and Dreadnok stuff.
i don't army build, I just having one of any character is good enough for me. and i only pick up vintage stuff if it's a steal. *got a 99% complete night raven a few months back to $15* So i guess as far as this ridiculous hobby goes, i'm pretty lucky. come to think of it, I'm more worried about running out of space for my joe tattoos. *3 and counting*

both
50% of my 25th single figures are still MOC. I opened all the vehicles, comic packs etc. Everyting else is on display or packed away in giant totes. I'm thinking of switching things around and only displaying ARAH and 25th. Most everything else can go. It's a daunting task because I have about 10 or 12 totes filled with action figures (not all Joe). It's gonna be real hard figuring out what stays and what goes. I just don't know if it would be easier to sell off all the VvV in a big lot or break it down. |

I've reached the same point with my Transformers collection. I have too many & I've been over run by them. And with at least 2 more movies & the 25th anniversary I can't collect anymore. I have to stop. And most of the figures I would sell to make more space are completely worthless. I'm only gonna get a couple more Joe & Transformer figures & then I'm done with toy collecting.
I'm looking for a few Spytroops & VvV figures so if you wanna get rid of some let me know. |

I sold my VvV and Spytroops figures not to long ago. Close to 200 figures, but i ended up selling all of them. They are great for members to use for customs and people like to army build the troops. I sold them pretty cheap and probably lost money, but i needed the room...

generally I only buy pieces that i find intresting. There was a years or so that the only thing i bought was the Oktober Guard pack, and the fan choice pack.
