Joe Video Game, What style game would you like to see?

On the way into work I was thinking about how cool it would be if we could skin Halo 3 with Joes vs Cobras. Change the Vehicle designs up etc and so on and so forth. There are so many Star-Wars titles out there, some very crappy ones at that, and with that in mind, I would like to see a nicely produced video game for the Joe Line.

I know in 2009, I am certain that some low budget fresh out of the digipen or full-sail, new game company marketed under the Activision line of games, will design the video game for the movie and it will be just as bad as "transformers the movie video game", but here is hoping that maybe someone at Hasbro corp actually reads the forums and, that someone also decides that the video game should be designed by a fairly known game studio and aimed towards the targeted audience that grew up with the Toys, Comic Book and Cartoon line, which I believe is the 20-36 (possibly older) age group and not design it around the movie.

I have both original Nintendo Joe Titles, scroller shooters and mildly entertaining at that.

There are only so many video game types out there that could fit the Joe game, in your opinion, what style game would you like to see for a Joe game, and what company would you like to see design it.

Personally, I am slightly torn with the idea of a 3rd person shooter style game such as Splinter Cell, Metal Gear, Mercenaries, Socom, GTA, and a first person shooter such as Halo or Call of Duty.

I mean come on, who here hasn't played Rainbow Six or Splinter Cell, or Mercenaries and thought, "hey!" this would be a great Joe Game, or Dreadnocks game in the case of mercenaries.

I'd like to see some vehicle combat as well as multiplayer. Possibly a choose your side to begin with so you can opt to play Cobra.

I am an Ubisoft, Bungie and Valve fanboy admittedly from the RB6 line, Halo, and Half-Life video games. So Bungie, Valve, Ubisoft, get my vote.

and like i said in another game thread, i'd love to see it done Battlefield style.

run, shoot, see a hiss, hop in and drive. that sorta thing.

i would like to see it be like x-men legends or ultimate alliance, where you see and and can use multiple characters at one time

Id luv to see a Socom style game of Gi joe

where you can pick witch joe or Cobra you wanna be and go online and have battles on diffrent levels like the USS flag and cobra island stuff like that

I would like to see it Battlefront style. You can choose 1st or 3rd person.

Different maps...Cobra Island, Trenches, Desert, Jungle, Arctic, Swamp, Sea battle, Underwater, Woodland etc.

Choice of play in a battle map or mission objective style ( invade Cobra Island, Attack the PIT, retrieve a series of big Weapon pieces like Weather dominator. etc. )

Online playing feature.

Core roster of Joes / Cobras and vehicles to choose from.
Other Joes / Cobras and vehicles can be unlocked after completing mission objectives.

Ability to command a squad of troops like Battlefront II.

Hand to Hand combat and Melee fighting. Special arena levels where characters can fight each other Streetfighter / UFC style.

Every single Joe,Cobra,Dreadnok Grenadier, Vehicles etc available through Downloadable content with additional maps as well.

Ability to customize characters and vehicles.

This game would be totally awesome on a PS3 or XBOX 360!...or even on a wii ;)

FPS is probably the best way to do it (IMO) but the Ultimate Alliance idea sounds pretty cool. In COD4 all my personal gun settings are named after the Joes so I know which weapon is in each place (Flint:Shotguns Rockn'Roll:heavy machine guns LowLight:Snipers etc. etc.) Something between COD4 + Ghost Recon + battlefield would be good (that's not asking too much... is it?)

ABSOLUTELY! I personally would like to appoint 'Cobra-Love' to head the design and creative team of the '09 G.I. Joe video game. Give him total autonomy! (clears throat) I'd like to place my pre-order now. I'm gonna need that on the Xbox 360 platform...thank you very much!
