I've been tossing around the idea of opening the rest of my 25th figures and wanted some feedback before I do so (please no smart ass remarks....if you don't care just move on to the next post)
I'm not really one for keeping things boxed up to display on the shelf. I don't want to have a collection of boxes that's not why I collect, But these 25th figures really bring me back to my youth and since this line began I've kept most my single carded figures MOC to display for the card art. I've opened up the vehicles, comic packs and a select few single carded figures that were my favorite from childhood. This has kind of been a double edged sword due to the fact that the figure inside wasn't all I hoped it would be and sometimes I wish I never opened it. I can't afford to buy two of each (one to open one to keep MOC) so it's either all or nothing. I have about 35-40 unopened 25th figures that I'm itching to crack open. All of these are first editions (25th logo, diaper crotch...you get the idea) so I know once I open it the value goes right out the window. Well, what do you all think..... Open them or keep them boxed?? |

Only do it if you have enough room to properly display them.
Look at the loose ones on ebay (notice how cheap some are) and maybe buy a few. The ones I opened just sat on my desk for a couple weeks until some new stuff came along or I had to clear off my desk for something and ended boxed or bagged. It's a tough choice. I have some regrets.

I open pretty much all my figures, except for the select few where I bought doubles (e.g., BAT figure). No regrets, since I don't plan on selling them down the road and bought them to enjoy and relive my childhood.
