One question you have to ask yourself is "who will be the targeted market for these toys 15 to 20 years from now?"Saving Joes MOC just does not make since to me unless you just happen to love MOC over loose with no concern over value. The Joes of the 80's like Transformers and Star Wars were cult classics. These toy lines will NEVER be as poular with kids as they once were(exeption of maybe Star Wars). The reason we all loved these toys as children were because they were fresh ideas in an age where technology was first really taking off.Robots in disquise and an army of anti-terrorists with weapons and equipment far beyond any of our imaginations, the concept (at the time)was amazing! Then there were the Sat.morning cartoons and comics. The cartoons are gone, and lets face it almost everyone of us got into the Joes by watching the toons every Sat.morning.Ask yourself if you keep them MOC who is going to be interested in paying large $'s for them in 15 to 20 years, the kids who are 5-12 years old now?We are willing to pay because it was THE TOYS to own in the 80's and I would be willing to bet 90% of the childhood population had at least one Joe growing up.Not that way with kids today. The popularity with kids is not the same as it once was.Ask any man age 28 to 35 if he knows who Gi-Joe is and whether he had them as a child or not he will say YES.I know there are kids today that love Joes but the numbers and passion are not what they used to be.My son likes Joe but he loved/loved Pokemon,Pirates and Batman. When the kids of this era grow into adults with their own money ask yourself will they want to pay alot of money for my MOC Joe's.IMHO they won't.Pokemon on the other hand may be different.I hate Pokemon but it was HUGE with kids.If you wanna may a few bucks in the future invest in what the kids can't get enough of and open your Joes!!!!! With as mant MOC cards as you will see in 15 to 20 and with a decreased interest by then you will wish you had.JMHO.

Open em carefully and keep the Backing for the artwork (like a collector's card etc). Posing and playing with them is what really brings me back...But now their heads and hands can come off to simulate damage MHUAHAHAHA,,,

if your joy is in the packaging, but you want to play with the figures, then open away, just be careful when you do. there are people on here who could even give you advice on opening them without hurting the card. I am not one of them though personally I open mine and save the cardbacks, I plan on putting up the cardbacks on the wall or something someday. |

I'm in the same boat and pretty torn. I don't have space to display them all, as much as I may want to. Packages I can hang off the wall and have more display space.
My original collection is all loose. I'm not going to take them out and "play" with them. I would like to get some to display them in various poses. I'm thinking some I'll take out and open, and others I'll just display. It'll depend on the figure. |

OPEN.
these things are 024357829307490237493724 times cooler open than in the package. leave the crazy stuff, like variants CC exclusives etc in the package, if you want to look at the packaging. as it stands these things are only worth the artificial inflation based on demand that has been created recently.....so enjoy em. if everyone keeps em MOC anyway they aren't going to be "valuable" besides, whats the point in having them if its not to enjoy em.

Hold out! You can always open them down the road. I bet all figures are going to be reissued on the new cards and by that time you may be able to afford the extra figs. You may regret opening them eventually but I also think its a must to have an opened figure of each to enjoy! Diaper crotches suck anyway...they can't sit.

Okay...what is the best way to open and save the cardwork? I'm finding the earlier figures come clean off the card very easily while later waves tend to tear the backing.
