I was curious if you all would be interested in GI Joe being re-done in a new continuity, grounded in reality? No, I don't mean Duke doing his taxes and bitching about the cost of oil type of reality, but something more along the lines of strangling people from behind with piano wire type of reality. On top of that, i don't mean a complete dismissal of the fantasy elements either.
I was going to do a small project called "virtual file cards" for the site which consisted of me taking pictures of the action figures within dioramas doing their "thing." The photos would be accompanied by a lengthy profile. I started this in the photo thread last year and i wanted to expand the idea. As i was writing the file cards i actually re-wrote most of the GI Joe lore that centered around the characters in the process. So, anyway, what I've essentially got here is a full character bible for something that could operate as a television show. I realized this and began fleshing out a basic background plot and i thought that the story would be too good to waste. I guess what i would like to do is post the series here on Hisstank. I'd like to gauge reaction to something like this before i waste my time writing something no one will enjoy. Now, I'm not talking about busting down the doors of a major studio, nor do i have delusions about getting somethng like this produced, that is simply looney. What i'm talking about is writing real television scripts and posting them up every now and then for you kind folks to read and enjoy (and most likely to bust my balls about). That's it. The project would be for fun for all of you, but it is time consuming, i want to know if i have an audience. If you like the idea, please let me know below. If the response is positive i'll begin doing some work.

Okay, I, for one, am COMPLETELY in favor or more realism...or a more "grown up" element of GI Joe.
The Cobra Reborn/Reloaded series was about as close as we've gotten. Those were very gritty and in your face with the reality of the two factions. I would definitely read it!

Not that I'm the smartest guy in the universe, but i thought this would get more comments. Not a big deal if no one agrees, but i thought someone would have an opinion about it.

sounds cool. I don't really read any fan fic though (Star Trek/Star Wars/Transformers/G.I.Joe etc. etc.) The internet is sort of clogged with it. But if it were a series of interesting diorama pics with a short story/paragraph attatched I would be sure to check it out.
