Hey all, got me a Conquest today!! WHOO HOO!
Thought I post some help for people having sticker issues. I have built models for years and thought I'd help out any tankers. 1st Wash the Conquest, the mold release agent they used was super greasy on mine slipery as hell. I uses a combo of warm soapy water and rubbing alcohol. Use the water first wash off soap let air dry then hit it with alcohol. 2nd I like these stickers more realistic and stick perfectly with the proper technique. Take and x acto and VERY GENTLY list the sticker off the paper. This will keep you from screwing up the film on them and keep you from bending them. 3rd when you apply them put one small area of the sticker on first, them use your fingernail or a q tip with the cotton removed from one end to work the sticker into the panel lines. Trust me this works and get the stickers to lay right into the line creating a VERY clean and natural look, especially the mouth and the black strip on the nose. For painting (if you want to) testore Dark Gull Gray is perfect for matiching the body to the strip on the canopy. The engines do NOT like Tamiya flat black DO NOT USE IT! I used Testors Gunmetal with a coat of clear flat to keep the paint from rubbing off. That's about all hope it helps. And sorry if this is in the wrong forum just thought maybe some floks who don't usually look in the custom threads might like it.

Do you think that using those little alcohol hand wipes that they usually give out in restaurants would do the trick? How about the ones they sell in those little packets for use on lenses?
I figured that instead of cleaning the whole plane maybe I could just use those wipes to clean off the small area I'm applying the sticker to. The big problem that I have with these new stickers though are the fact that they are flat instead of shinny. If you have a quick fix for that problem I would like to hear it.

I would still wipe the whole aircraft down, just as its takes that greasy feeling off it. The little wipes should work, I just used paper towels and a bottle of rubbing alcohol.
As for the flat surface on the stickers someone posted that you can peel off the flat finish although I didn't I like em flat.
