I was already prepairing for price increases, that's why I've gone back to MOC collecting and 1 of each. No more buying 2 of each and sold off my loose figures, except my troop builder's. Not sure if I'm gonna quit that yet.

I prefer loose over carded anyways, but the retro look is what hooked me into keeping them carded. That and the fact it was going to be a limited run thing.
With the multi packs, DVD and vehicles, it'll still keep me around. When they release a new figure I want on the new cards, I will get them for loose purposes. Increasing the price on single cards and not the other things is what baffles me. |

It really shouldn't baffle anyone. Just look at eBay, people are buying carded figures recently released for an average of around $11. Why wouldn't Hasbro cash in on that fact by raising the prices of their figures. From a business standpoint if they see that they can command that much for a single figure and get it then it makes sense for them to raise prices. The crappy part is that they won't admit it and use the old "tooling" excuse. That's the only part that makes them dishonest IMHO.

LIKE i have said before. If they raise the prices there better not be SINGLE goddamn reuse ever again. At these prices they better make new molds for every goddamn figure ever made.

All I know is that if the $$ is going up then the quality (sh*tty hands, ect) had better go up and the repaints better start going down then. :(
BS. :( .

I just checked in with Hasbro execs. They just told you all to flake off. They're making the figures they want at the prices they want to make 'em. They're going to use Duke Arms until they lose the patent. In fact, they're expanding the feature. They might just place Duke arms on future figures' legs, thereby saving money on the extra plastic for the feet and the shins and whatnot.
More in fact, they'll be adding Duke arms to future torsos. That way you can have four armed Dukes to admire their superawesome articulation. One guy said that the accountants have replaced designers on the development teams. They don't need anyone muddling up the program with original (meaning expensive) ideas. No, they need someone that can think in cold hard facts. 'Cause when you make toys, you don't need to reinvent the wheel. You milk the cow by its horns and kill two birds with one black kettle. You got that, guys? Oh, and I'm going to have to tone down my purchases from 10 figures to 6 or 8 tops, maybe 9. And I'll only go over 10 if they're cool or if they're Snake Eyes. But definitely no more than 11. In conclusion, I see this line selling out regardless of what we say here until they replace the classic cardbacks for something new. But much like gas, when the prices rose we swore the gas pump off but we still drove in similar amounts as we did a year ago. Anyway, I think the only way they would get us to stop buying is if the figures rose by $2 to $3 in one fell swoop. Since they snuck it up on us over a year, people aren't that prone to notice.

yeah. i wait for a month for things to cool off.
as for the raising the prices? there was no need anyways. those fillers, those repaints, those recycle parts to create a new character, those unwanted exclusives, those comic packs, etc made me just buy what i need. raise it or not,i'm not gonna spend on whatever hasbro just throw at us. heck, they fail to give us the "increase production" on the first place. should i bother? nah.

I can understand an increase to some extent, because of gas and shipping prices, but if the increase is to high then forget it I'll stop collecting, I'll be damned if I'm gonna go bankrupt trying to keep up with the Jones'
Maybe its time to jump into a 12 step program for collecting Joe's.... who knows, all I can say is, I'll never beable to build my BAT, VIPER army now =\
