Big Boa was developed alongside Rocky, not instead of Rocky. He was designed to be Rocky's "Nemesis/Counterpart" on the Cobra side. The difference being Big Boa remained in the line after the Rocky deal fell through. Quote:
NWO Hulk not being included is easy: ARAH Joe was already pretty much gone by that era, and even less likely to shell out licensing fees since it was now operating on a far smaller budget. Last edited by Jmacq1; 11-21-2011 at 12:08 PM.. |

Besides, they already have Snake-Eyes. Rambo is basically what Snake-Eyes would be with a few less positive influences in his life and a shred less willpower to keep it all in check. Lotta people seem to forget that Rambo isn't actually pro-military or pro-war. Quite the opposite, despite all the violence he heaps upon his enemies. Heck, Rambo is probably a better candidate for recruitment by Cobra than by G.I. Joe (Cobretti jokes aside). Then again, both Rambo and Rocky kinda lost track of what they were about once they got about halfway through the franchise, only to get back on-track with their latest (if not final) installments. No, by the time he came out (or... was going to come out) I was pretty much done with most figures. I do remember thinking how 'stupid' it was when I saw him in the G.I.Joe 'who's who' guide (but that was at an age where EVERYTHING that I didn't like was stupid) If i saw him today I'm sure I would buy him just to have it- but I doubt I would display him- he would probably just go in the 'Joes Box'

His file card (well, order of battle entry) was basically "Rocky joins the National Guard/Reserve and shows up part-time to run PT for the Joes and teach some of them boxing." But yeah, Rambo would need a personal stake to go after Cobra, and even then...isn't much of a team player. Like I said above...more likely to have Cobra Commander whispering in his ear saying, "Heeey, think about all those times the US Government screwed you over...we're here to fix that." Enter John Rambo, the world's scariest Range-Viper.... ;) Last edited by Jmacq1; 11-21-2011 at 01:44 PM.. |

Yeah, it wouldve been cool back then. And if not then, than I would still need him for my ARAH collection now.
