Ok i want to get the gi joe cartoons from the 80's and i've seen several of them on ebay. Theres season 1 part 1 then there is season 1 part 2. Then season 2. I've also run across one set that says it has 14 discs and all episodes and has nice campbell artwork on the cover. Is that set complete? Which way to go to get them all? Thanks for the help in advance.

The box sets never got finished. That 14 disc set should be complete(just know it is bootlegs).I got a 16 disc set,it had dragonfire saga and the ninja battles dvd.I just want to get my hands on the DIC stuff, even in bootleg form,i've found it tricky to get them.

The 14 disc set is a bootleg set. From what I can tell (I don't have it) it claims to have all Sunbow and DIC episodes (However it only shows the first 5 DIC episodes, so it may not have all of those) You'll get better quality with the Rhino season sets, but those stop midway season 2
We really need someone to release all the episodes on DVD (Hopefully if the movie does well, we'll get that) |

I can't believe how much people are willing to pay for those bootlegs, by the way. . .outrageous! I say thumbs down to the bootleggers, but an even bigger thumbs down to Sony or whoever the heck owns the rights to the Joe cartoon license right now yet doesn't produce the cartoons for fans to buy legally. Shame, all the way around! Shame!

(Screen caps only) http://joeguide.com/adanimation/ David Thornton is a great guy, his site, formerly Quick Kick's Theater, has everything you'll ever need to know about the Sunbow cartoon series.
