Ya know, I've seen at least 5-10 single figures on the pegs constantly (Even if they're wave 7 lately) Comic packs are plentiful (Only half are wave 1) and then there's the shelf of exclusives and DVD sets. There were vehicles there, but they sold out pretty quick (Even though it was 2-3 cases) Now factor in the 2 cases of wave 9 that was there today, and the fact that singles are $6.99 (1 cent more expensive than Wally world and $1 cheaper than Target) and I find that I have no problem with TRU at all.
Now that's just Joes, for the Bat fans, they had about 6 of the Movie Masters Jokers in their huge aisle of Batman merch. For the Star Wars fans, they're usually pretty good about having stock, sometimes the newest singles lack a bit, but they usually have a good sized wall of figures. I saw the new Transformers Universe figures at TRU first. More and more, TRU is sounding like all the other toy stores. So if they're so bad we need to shut them all down, why don't we just shut down ALL the stores that sell toys. Actually, let's go a bit further and just stop making toys all together, we don't NEED them, we can survive with pinecones and sticks! |

I'm trying to follow the logic here. They keep selling out of the toys you want to buy and that means that they should go out of business? If they can't keep the stuff on the shelves long enough for you to arrive (and I guarantee you aren't alone) then that must mean they're doing HUGE business. Those delivery trucks are arriving all the time so empty pegs means someone's buying. It's just not you.

I love TRU...more so as a kid. My only complaint is that they've become the new KB IMHO. With some exceptions, it seems their prices are always higher compared to Target/Walmart and even online. I don't collect SW, but they have the Falcon for $10 more. My g/f and I were looking for an extra Mario Kart Wii wheel for her brother and it was $5 more at TRU. They have the DVD packs for $5 more than most stores. It sucks because I'd rather buy from TRU, but not for those prices. It's like what KB was to TRU and Child World when I was kid except now it's TRU to Target/Walmart on many items. Not every item (singles are the same at TRU and Target here), but many items.

I go to toys r' us to get star wars for the most part. I have two close to me and I found just about every new star wars figure. On the down side both joe invitories suck! I have only seen one singe pack and that was in four months ago! It's like the don't get enough joes shipped to them. On the slight up side One of them just stocked some vehicle packs and lots of the DVD packs. The only problem now is getting the money for this stuff. At the moment my joe fund is broke... Although I do accept donations.

I love me some TRU. They had the 1:18 scale Die Cast 1966 Batmobile there. It was the only one and it was my birthday, so just for that day in particular... HAIL TOYS R US!! And Boo to BBTS because I had that puppy on pre-order for 1 year and 4 months and still have yet to receive it. Plus my daughter loves TRU so I refuse to say anything bad that may have them put outta business.

I haved lived in NEPA for the past 23 years all the while collecting toys and all I can say is you clod.
NEPA trus are the best place to find joes in the WB.Scranton area. The TRU at viewmont and WB are great. KB is closed down in the region. K-mart rarely stocks. WB walmart is notoriously bad. Viewmont walmart isn't much better. The pittston walmart is pretty good though. The wb and viewmont targets are cleaned out regularly by the local dealers. Boo to you sir. boooooo Quote:
I think they should just wrap it up. Seriously. They have nothing good, even non JOE related stuff is rare as hell. Been to 3 TRU's in three weeks and they don't have shit.
They should just go out of business. They are not what they used to be, I have stayed the same in my collecting habits FOREVER. TRU has just been letting everyone across the board down in all aspects from every brand. |

Why would you say to shut down a store. All that does is limit a place you can find toys. Me, I like having options. I've picked up Joe's at K Mart, Toys R Us, Target, Meijer...the more options I have, the better chances I have of getting what I want. Sure, my Toys R Us has gone through dry spells. But today all the new comic packs were in, including the black headed Destro. Heck, we even have a few Walmarts here in town that have been dry for months. Would I say shut them down??? Nope, because you never know when that elusive figure is going to show up there. If it is closed, you have one less place to get it.

if your local TRU barely get any 25th Joes.... i suggest finding other places or other ways to acquire them.
instead of getting frustrated why not change of buying strategy such as ordering online. that way you need to spend less time b&tch&n' TRU around still have a decent supply of 25th Joes. they are indeed hard to find on the first 3 weeks due to demand, but wait for 4 weeks and they just warm the pegs and shelves. just like vehicles.... i saw tons of them already.

Kudos to those that still have KMART. The closest one to me is 50 miles away, and then I don't know where there are any more in Texas. So at least you have an extra outlet to hunt for Joes.
