Just remember the ancient Chinese proverb - "He who dies with the most toys wins."

He who dies with the most collectibles will have a wife that sells all that shit in a yard sale with no idea the real value, then take the money and get her nails done to go along with the new man who doesn't collect toys...

I once sold off/lost my HUGE collection. At the time, I needed the money and times were tough. I look back on it now,and wish things could've been different. There were a lot of memories associated with those toys, and my goal now is to re build my collection. I have a ton of this current line, and when it slows down, I will go after all of the old school stuff. Before you dump your stuff just make sure it's the right thing for you do and you're doing it for the right reasons. Just my 2 cents.

Not my wife. I constantly remind her how much these things could be worth later. This way, she can sell all my collectibles when I die and get her a real pretty boy toy and be his sugar-momma.

don't do something you will regret, rehab is for quitters. do you have family that you trust that can store it for you? my mother stored my collection away for 10 years. selling everything off, is the last option in my opinion.

I have a 15x8 shed with nothing but my collectibles. Problem is... IT IS FULL AS A TICK. Now my computer room is being used for a storage area. I am getting rid of the crap I bought thinking it was worth something. But I need a bigger area, my wife thinks I am obsessed and I need to seek help. I can see her having a garage sale and selling this crap to kids that will open packages and tear off the limbs and AGGGGHHHH I DON'T WANNA THINK ABOUT IT!!!! JUST BURY THEM WITH ME OR JUST BURN THEM!!

It seems like a lot of people seem to let the hobby get out of control. When it takes over your life and space maybe its a little too much.
I never understood buying 100 bats or multiples of everything. Hasbro wants people to be completists so they can make the most money. Ask your self why you got into this in the first place and try to recreate that feeling. don't let the hobby take over your life or your wallet. |
