I was able to get one off of Ebay a while back. was about $40 (including shipping!!!) for the whale, mirages motorcycle, water moccasin, broken Vamp II, ferret, and a mauler.
The vehicles were in pretty good condition even! The whale had one little broken piece in the front, where the ramp folds down, and the spring to shoot the sled was broke, but over all, it had all the missiles and missile pods, and quite a few pieces that I usually see missing on others. I was extremley happy with the purchase, because I never had a whale, ferret, vamp, or mauler as a kid. Congrats on your purchase, quite an awesome toy! A lot bigger than I was expecting even.

Cool score man!! I also never had one as a kid and recently got one on ebay and it is badass. As a kid I never really had any of the vehicles, the ones I did have we would usually get them from garage sales and they wouldnt be complete of course. But now as an adult I can buy what ever Joes I want ( or at least as many as my wife will not find out about LOL)

Ah the WHALE, I've still got mine and it's a beauty! Unlike the Skystriker, the WHALE delivers a lot of play value with everything that I think makes a good Joe vehicle: Plenty of moving parts, a lot of interior space and a versatile overall function.
Something like the Skystriker looks great, but only carries two figures and has limited use for play (it flies... and that's it). The WHALE on the other hand can be used in any 'battle scenario' and makes a great 'mobile base'. A re-issue would be nice, as mine's getting a bit tatty now.
