The so-help-me-if-I-ever-see-another-of-this-character thread...

So, a lot of news has been hitting lately, what with Joe Con, SDCC, even those sneaky Walmart computers. We know that we have only a few series left until the line switches over to movie figures, when all we will be getting are endless movie variations of Cobra Commander, Destro, Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow and Duke. So, rather than pack the remaining product until then with all the fan's most requested characters, like Recondo, Mindbender, and Cover Girl, we seem to be getting yet more versions of, you guessed it, Cobra Commander, Destro, Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow and Duke. What the heck?

I decided to start this thread as an opportunity for all concerned tankers like myself to have an opportunity to vent their rage at being forced, tricked, cajoled or otherwise duped into buying yet another version of these aforementioned blights on the line in order to get, I don't know, Tripwire or a Jetpack or something.

Sound off!

You aren't being "forced, tricked, cajoled, or otherwise duped" into buying anything. If you don't want another Duke or Snake Eyes or Cobra Commander, guess what...you don't have to buy it.

Also, that seems to be a drastic misrepresentation, given that there appear to be plenty of new figures coming in the future. But hey, why let little things like rationality, logic, or reality get in the way of another opportunity to bitch some more.

Do the people here actually like collecting toys anymore? Sometimes I wonder.

hasbro knows what its doing from the selling standpoint, package a repaint with a new character, means more $$$ for them. I'm with you though, i don't want another Destro or Duke or Cobra Commander (although i really dig the CC from the wave 5 comic pack)

Cobra Commander. Duke was a close second though.

Well, humor, sarcastic or otherwise, often has a way of not translating well in the written word. I thought it was obvious that I was engaging in some mock-rage and silliness; apparently not.

I personally still enjoy the hobby, just sick of some of the repacks. Thanks for your time, though!

Honestly, I didn't detect any sarcasm. I have read far too many posts that were completely serious in saying what you just have. I apologize for mocking your mock rage.

And there are too many CCs. Even I will admit that.

Except that, yeah, you pretty much are if you're trying to build the MASS device, or want a figure that's being included only in the DVD packs (Quick Kick, toon acurate Lady J), and to get either you gotta put up with version 27 of SE and CC or some other waste of plastic, or go to the overpriced secondary market.

Hasbro knows how to exploit the collectors' market.

i don't like seeing characters released over and over again any more than anyone else, but, like another poster said, you aren't forced to buy them... when they are single-carded. where i have a problem is when these characters are continually re-released as part of a comic pack or DVD set, etc. i think, in a way, that could actually be considered 'duping'. tripwire with CC, iron grenadier with destro, snake eyes with night creeper (rumored), snake eyes in two DVD sets, CC in a DVD set and a target exclusive set.... i find all those pretty annoying.

oh, and to answer the question: snake eyes.
