I always see pics of funskool or foriegn 80s joes.. Is there a place online where you can purchase these? Are they still producing original 3-3/4 joes in other countries? If yes..How can someone obtain them?-The Nemisis

You might find some carded (term used loosely) Funskool figures at Small Joes or BBTS. There's usually some available on eBay, as well. At this point since the line is no longer being produced the stock is dwindling all over. If you know someone in India I'm sure stores there have more stock than in the states...

I just bought a bunch of funskool figures recently and I'd say pass on them. The plastic is very brittle (worse then the TRU 15th anniversary figures).....and the weapons are low quality too. They're okay for display I guess but for play forget it.

This is very true, however, for guys like me who never owned a vintage Flint or Mainframe this was my only chance to buy a mint copy that looks almost as good as the originals (if you cross your eyes and cover the left one with your hand). Most of the color schemes are neon, at best, and the quality is very sub-Hasbro...

Greetings from Argentina. If you want to buy carded figures made by Plastirama I have a contact. He has the following ones:
Cobra de Hielo (Storm Shadow) Sparta (Covergirl) Sigilo (Quick Quick) Fuera de la Ley (Destro) Antorcha (Blowtorch) Crasylegs (Soldado paracaidista) Condor (Airborne) Fuego (Ripcord) I think that's all but I'm not sure. I'll update de exact list if someone is interested in it. |

It's not as hard as you think, although you might have to be a little patient. You can find them on Ebay though. I bought a MOSC Japanese Flint and the figures released there were the same as here, so I do know how you feel. I think I only paid about $30 or so though. Funskool figures are neat when it comes to the variations, but I wouldn't bother with a sub-par version of a normal figure. Back even before I got into Joe collection heavily, I picked up a Snow Job with the same intent as you - it was a real piece of crap. |
