Eventualy they thought about using it to replace the JEEP as a an all weather transport, but it was very unstable. It also had no cargo room. The engines and fuel took up nearly all the available space!

The Air Force used alot of stuff from the F-16 to make the X-29. At the time the X-29 required more computer power than any other plane to keep it in the air. It was very unstable because ot the forward swept wings, BUT that is what you want in a "Dogfighter".
Even the Nazis had plans for a forward swept wing Jet Fighter at the end of WWII. But we beat them before they could build it. History Channel tells you alot. They had some truly brilliant engineers on the payroll. The Tiger Tank and Fw 190 for the win.

The Tiger Tank was a kick ass tank, but it had flaws too. They used the same suspension and drive gears from the early Panzer tanks whitch proved a big mistake. The Tiger Tank was too heavy for the old Panzer gears and suspension. It couldn't drive at full speed without stripping its gears! If they had to use it in attack instead of defense, it may not have done quite as well. Pluss it was so heavy that even though it had wide tracks, it still got bogged down on soft ground...

Read this man. Just outstanding. On 7 July 1943, a single Tiger tank commanded by SS-Oberscharführer Franz Staudegger from the 2nd Platoon of 13th Panzer Company of 1st SS Division Leibstandarte SS engaged a group of about 50 T-34s around Psyolknee. Staudegger used all his ammunition in destroying 22 Soviet tanks, while the rest retreated. For this, Staudegger was awarded the Knight's Cross.

That is true. But the Tiger Tank had drawbacks too.

Yes it did. But, still an amazing feat for the time.
I always loved the lore and "Tiger Fobia" involved. Good stuff.
