One of the more fun extras on the movie DVD was a list of 25 of the public service announcements from the classic cartoon. For shits and giggles I decided to marathon them, and to my honest surprise, they didn't seem as annoying as I thought. They didn't seem to talk down to the audience, and some of the advice is stuff a lot of parents might not even know, or take for granted too much to remind their kids.
Hell, a couple months ago when me and my nephew had an accident (we repeatedly fell into each-others fists, that's our story and we're stickin' to it! ), my nose got broken and I remembered Footloose's instructions on how to handle a bloody nose. I gotta tell you, it was EXACTLY like the PSA. Everyone is telling me to put my head back, but I remembered a Joe tellin' me otherwise two decades ago. Thak you, Footloose. Now if only Hasbro would make a new figure of you! PS: For anybody concerned, we were laughing over our beer about it an hour later. My family is a little crazy, and we play rough, but at least we're never boring. ;) |
