You know last night I went hunting around for the DVD packs (Phoenix AZ) and it got me thinking, AZ is a big town but it gets small when people here savage the local Targets and have to buy multiples OF EVERYTHING.
Nobody here stocks stuff, and then you've got SOME AZ people here buying up 2 sets of each after bugging the stockers for them. Let's not forget Hasbros indifference to actually keeping up with demand, it got me wondering if there is even a point to someone like me who buys one of each and DOESN'T have to have one to open and one to keep. I read posts here and really most of you are cool with it. Others just blow me away with the absolute greed and manuevers to get them. "I have a contact who lets me buy the whole waves before the hit the shelf" "I bought 2 of each DVD set after getting the stockers to pull them for me". "I'm going to buy a ton of DVD sets for the vines". I mean really is there even a chance to just go a buy them with the odds sooooo stacked aginst it? Good point....it is getting old.
I'm hoping (more like praying) that this stuff is going to be easier to find this fall. Most of the stores around me have the space designated for Joe product (it's still not on the shelf...or it's the peg warmers) so I'm guessing something big is just around the corner. I've been frustrated beyond belief with the hunt and turning up nothing. I've wanted to stop collecting more times then I can count. Something keeps drawing me back every time. I've just learned to accept that I'm not going to find anything when I walk through the doors of the big stores....the rare occassion that I do makes it all worth while. So I guess that's why I still collect (or at least until I get every figure/vehicle re-made 25th style between the years 82-86) Since I've joined Hisstank many of my fellow members have hooked me up with figures and vehicles that I know I wouldn't have found without them. Before I came here I was ready to give it up. Now, things are looking better and I'll stick it out for awhile longer. Put the word out for what you need and I'm sure somebody will help you out. |

Yeah, it's like gambling . . . You go to a boat and put some cash in the slots. The first couple of times, nothing. Then, you get a small jackpot, but it's enough to keep you going. I get to the point where I say, "I'm not going to Kmart today". But then, I remember the time I went and found a couple of figs I was looking for, and so I think, "What if today's that day?" It's crazy!

There is one thing you can do and that is order cases from BBTS, HTS or EE. These are great sites that have a proven track record (maybe not HTS) for good customer service. Once you get your main fix then do an occasional hunt for openers if you want them.

Yeah I know there is online but shipping at some places is crazy unless you do a big order.
I had to order a few, but I guess what I'm saying is that it seems you have professional hunters out there that make it next to impossible to get anything. No flame intended, but why not buy one and leave a few until more come? |

I agree with vadersquest, as long as you can get your pre-order in soon enough, and as long as you don't order a case that comes out months after the initial figures are released (:cough: wave 9 revision :cough: ).
Regarding the issue of this thread, the "hunting" was never fun for me, since wave 1 of the 25th figures. It sucks now, it sucked then, and it will likely suck into the foreseeable future. Screw "hunting." |

And if you get your order in in time, you will save a ton of gas! The wv 9 case I ordered will cost me 64 shipped. Not a bad deal.

change the deck, source online via contacts or e-retailers. or, keep playing the same game and complain about it. you have options.
hunting is well hunting. by it's very nature you are not gauranteed a kill and most of the time you come home empty handed. some people just don't have hunting in their nature and some do. it's not for everyone thats for sure.
