lol...dude that is literally the exact same for me! I guess because when I grew up watching the cartoon and no one ever died, I could never bring myself to kill off anyone when I was playing. I think that is why I like resolute so much and want more figures from that line because I can totally have people die...haha

I play with my youngest son(4), my older boys(12&11) and I used to play but now its only in gijoe the video game, they will play with their little brother when he begs them,( he puts on a puppy dog face)and they do hold up better than I would have thought, and I agree with gatchaman, I also am in the same boat as john shaft, Im usually the joes and hes cobra, but snake-eyes is a cobra and yes I never win, funny how that works.

Being an old Adventure Team kid of the 70's, I have to confess... Hell yeah I play! My son works in the video game industry and his cubicle is covered with GI joes! A Tomahawk deploys a commando team from the rear ramp to the top of his monitors. I have my cave which is the GI Joe shrine (as my daughter calls it). My wife knows that it is because I have always played with toys that my kids grew up thoroughly enjoying every ounce of playability in the toys we bought for them. M y son has begged me to ensure the USS Flagg is still around for his kids, and my daughter has earmarked her top 10 that she wants her kids to play with. As a granpa, I plan on having a toy room with a giant diorama just for action figures (or yes, and my daughter hates Barbie!).
As for the weirdness or geek factor: two of my sons girlfriends have been toy geeks, both bombshells. One loved legos and the current one grew up with three brothers. so I gave her a 1983 Scarlett . they are coming over thanksgiving weekend to set up the flagg. I never grew up. that is for unfun people. |

Okay, I tinker around with my vehicles- not the figures- when bored.
i just love my Dragonfly and Dragonhawk. and hell, with all the choppers buzzing overhead where i live, it's not like i have to make the sound effects.

I love playing. My excuse is that I'm a fiction writer so I need to have characters act belieavably and a great way to do that is through role play.
Aw, heck, I just love playing with them. I've got Scarlet, Heavy Duty, Tunnel Rat, Snake Eyes, Rock n' Roll, Stalker and Helix acting as a stealth-based (HD and RnR act as cover fire/support) team that goes on all the adventures, mostly to infiltrate the secret Cobra base. (I say "secret" but it's surrounded by vipers, a steel crusher, and some HISS tanks... gee, that's not obvious at all) |

i used to set up my joes like a chess board and make up intricate stories for them over the week, every thought in every figures head, what they had for break fast that morning... everything...
then over the course of the next month or two i would gradually move them and change the story. its a fantastic way to oil the gears if you work on writing novels or scripts. |
