So, before work this morning I went to my local Target. Before the doors, open, I and the local hot wheels collector shoot the breeze about what we've been seeing out at the stores. Anyways, she tells me that there was a young couple that a few days ago came to Target and ran down the aisles trying to get to the toys. She thought at first they were hot wheels collectors, but it turned out they went to the next aisle where the Joes are at, and she could overhear them talking about them. I found it interesting, basically because the only person in my area that I knew of that collected Joes had moved.
So we go into Target when they open the doors, and I'm in the Joe section and they just got the new vehicles, 12" figures, and some single cards (no DVD battle packs though, which is what I was looking for). So, I pick up an extra Hisstank to take home to keep MOC, and all of a sudden there is a pretty girl, a little younger than me, picking up the Trouble Bubble/RAM two-pack. Then a young man around my age turns the corner, and just kinda looks at me. I say to them "so you're the two I've heard about." We talk briefly, and I say to them "Hey, you want these, you can have them as I already have a set of each" and I hand him the Hiss. He says "Really, that's cool of you." I get their names, give them some information about upcoming figures, and tell them to visit Hisstank. Overall, a wonderful experience to not be a 'plastic glutton' and share GI Joe with others. |

Could be, but I doubt. The vehicles just hit my neck of the woods last night at WM and this morning at Target. But, you never know I suppose.

I am just yanking your chain. I am a cynic, because whenever I help somebody out like that it always bites me in the ass

That is a neat story Commander. Glad to hear that. I probably would have done the same.
Good to see people like you around. |
