I think it is cool he gave them up to the couple. Maybe they are new collectors who were searching for them just like we did/do. What if it was reversed? You being the needy collector and someone handing you over the joes you have been searching for due to that person already owning them. Do not judge him for his actions and leave the scalper comments at home. Great job Commander!

This is the very reason I have a BAT figure. a very nice guy in the toy aisle was looking over all of wave 9 when I frantically speed walked around the corner and started looking at the Joes. I probably looked like a scalper because I was grabbing all the new Joes. We talked a bit and he asked me which figures I thought were cool and such. He seemed to be floundering on the Bat so I asked if he was gonna get it. He said I could have it and he'd find another later. I have not seen one since then at all. Could be he was able to get one, maybe he hasn't. But he scored major karma points with that one kind action and if I can help him out sometime, I wouldn't hesitate to do it now.

If you re-read his post, He offered the vehicles to the couple, not the other way around. This type of action makes this hobby worth while. I have given stuff to other people and vise verse. Heck this has led to strong friendships. Scalpers are everywhere but who are we to judge. People like to hear positive stories from the hunt especially with all the negative comments and stories floating around.

thats all fine and good, but these examples are few and far between, not many collectors run across this, ever, and again,is this not about getting stuff for YOURSELF,or do you donate your joes to the salvation army too?maybe this strikes a chord with you 2 because its the truth????

You're right, this story does strike a cord with me, because I enjoy seeing people help each other out. I have offered figures I have in hand at the store to other collectors, I have sold Doc figures for $5-$7 and I have given figures away as contest prizes......all for the joy of helping friends and fellow collectors out

you know it isn't few and far between. The only figure I have from wave 9 is General Hawk and I was the first in my area to find wave 9. I passed on it to help out other people. As soon as I saw them I was on the phone to other people that I knew were looking and made sure that THEY got it. There are countless times and examples that I can name of people helping me out and me helping others out. Collectors who are not selfish and willing to help out others. Guess what, when I started doing that my collection started growing. I started getting things that I wanted more of. And what's more I'm pretty sure that if I wanted the rest of wave 9 all I would have to do is put the word out and I would have friends coming out of every corner to help me out. Guess what, Karma isn't just a stripper anymore!

Wow, Freddy, selfish much? I could see you pushing kids away as you swipe the last Joes off the pegs a Target...

And yes, I did donate Joes to a sick kid one of our more benevolent Tankers was collecting for...

So tell me, what does that make me, Mr. Sunshine???
