Had a lot of luck with all of my 25th GI Joes until this last batch. I picked up wave 2, and my Cobra infantryman has a broken left hand. It came right off at the wrist, and the peg is still in the socket in the arm. Can someone recommend to me how I could go about getting the peg back out? I have some *very* fine tweezers and thought I could extract it that way, but I had no such luck. I currently have a toothpick with a dab of plastic epoxy drying on the tip end of it (but not touching the socket, mind you), but I doubt seriously that the glue will provide enough tension to be able to pull the peg back out.
Also, does anyone have a spare left hand from a Cobra or Officer? If I had a replacement, I think I could forgo trying to extract the peg in one piece. I really don't want to waste this figure because of this, but I also don't want to glue his hand into place. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Wow...that sucks man.
You may want to try contacting Hasbro's Customer Service and reporting it...I'm sure they will make it right...whenever they get the product.

If it was mine I would probably just drill it out and make a replacement peg for the hand.

I had something similar happen to my single pack Snake Eyes, but luckily pulled the peg out before it sheared off. If you have an exacto blade, or hobby knife near you, what I would do, is gently insert the blade between the peg and the inside of the arm, and try forcing it out. Then superglue the peg back to the hand. At this point, get the knife, and carve out some room inside of it. Hours after the glue on the wrist peg dries, reinsert the hand and it should be good as knew, so long as you don't scrape away too much of the plastic inside the lower arm. Hope this helps.

Well, my idea to extract the peg via an epoxied toothpick turned out to be a bust. I was right - there simply wasn't enough grip to be able to pull the peg back out. I'm a bit suspicious of this peg, as it almost seems as if it's fused in the socket. (Not by the epoxy, mind you, I was *very* careful about this.) I can't seem to get a gap even for a point razor. I'm starting to think that this particular Cobra was just defective. Such a shame, too, as I can't find a replacement in my area now. :(

heres what i would do...
wait until i find another on the peg...buy it, and bring the first one back on the new receipt and tell them that it broke as soon as my son turned the wrist.
and yes, i know theyre not exactly rotting on the pegs at the moment, but they JUST came out...closer to christmas should find more making their way to the store.

another Iead you could try is take a Thumbtack (preferably with the plastic head) jam it into the wrist, break off the plastic head, using the wirecutting part of some needlenose pliers cut the metal rod from the thumbtack in half, jam the hand onto the metal rod (May help to use another thumbtack to start the hole on the hand)
I've used this method to repair a lot of toys, don't know how well it'll work on your trooper's hand though
