Cobra in the most unlikely place…..
So I came home from work this morning (Work 3rd shift) and my wife told me there was an article that I would like in Parenting Magazine and that I should check it out. Being that Parenting magazine isn’t too high up on my must read list I told her I would read it later. After waking up from sleeping all day I got up and got ready for work and then found I had 10 extra minutes of time before I had to leave. So with nothing else to do I decided to read the article titled, “The Darth Vader Dilemma”. To my surprise GI Joe was referenced a lot. Even more then Star Wars despite the title. It’s a short little Wright up about a father and his dilemma of weather he should encouraging his young son to play with and even like the bad guys. Both his son and him love Cobra Commander. It’s a good little story that’s well written and funny. So if any of you fathers out there have Parenting magazine lying around the house check it out. I think it’s the latest issue. Parenting magazine and GI Joe……who would have thought? |

Although I am not a parent, it was a good article. I always liked the bad guys because they looked "way cooler". The masks covering their faces were awesome to me at a young age (and still are more appealing to me). I liked the last part of the article
"But sometime between now and his manhood, I’ll need to explain to him that immoral deeds aren’t excused simply because you’ve got a cool outfit. That said, a quick message to the good guys: Get a better stylist. You make honor and justice look frumpy." Agreed LOL. |

I guess I always ended up liking the "bad guys" better because in reality, I'm more like the good guys -- meaning I am more willing to help someone, more likely to tell the truth, etc. I don't say that to blow my own horn, but that's just the way I was brought up. So I think that when I was playing, it was more fun for me to do the opposite of what I might do in real life.
Of course, Snake Eyes looks really cool and he's one of the good guys.

War may not be a fashion show, but fashion is war.
