I went to my TRU to see if they had Wave 2 but all they had were a CC and SS (A great surprise considering they've had nothing for 3 weeks) and on the shelf was a Viper 6 pack.
Just wondering when these came out, what a decent price for them is, and if they're worth it. I'm very new to the Joe-collecting thing so I'm thinking about troop-building and it seems like a good place to start...even though I have no idea what the Vipers are. |

I picked up two sets as soon as they came out. I definately liked them. Vipers are kinda like advanced troopers. Like if you joined Cobra, you start out as a "blueshirt" Soldier then you graduate to Viper then Crimson Guard (At least that's how I view it)
The only problem with the Viper pit set is that Hasbro used o-rings that were too small for them and the neck joints have a ridge that goes around the back of the ball (This is inside the torso) that ridge makes the head look down constantly. A lot of people, myself included, bought Viper Pit packs and as soon as we opened them, we replaced the o-ring and trimmed the ridge on the neck joint-ball (Some people did a whole lot more that IMO was very unnecessary) Regardless, it's still a cool little set especially if you're just getting into army building |

I got one pack, but have it still unopened. Not sure if I really need it, but it's there if I ever need 6 more Vipers. Well worth a purchase, if you can get one cheap. I think I gave 25$ for mine, but I have to buy all my figures online. (no Joes in our TRU).
Do notice that they are slightly different from the regular '86 Vipers. They have some other colors on the buckles and gloves, and they have the boots from BAT v1.

http://www.hasbro.com/default.cfm?pa...oduct_id=16738 The comic 3 packs that were on sale recently, i'm wondering if these 6 packs are the same quality. The quality seems lacking. They can't even hold their weapons. Scarlett's is especially bad. I can't even get her crossbow to "aim." Last edited by Tin_Trencher; 09-19-2007 at 04:18 PM.. |
