well, obviously all of the real life soldiers...etc.
But more important to this board, I would like to salute all of the G.I. Joes that we as children blew up and burned and lost on the combat fields of our backyards. I know that when I was a kid The 4th of July meant buying a metric ton of fireworks and then my friends and I would create interesting scenarios such as Snake Eyes catching his woman with another man, and being forced to end all of their lives with a mortar round. And then setting up intracate battle scenarios and lobbing m-80s at them to see who would live to tell the tale. or maybe my parents were insane for letting me play with explosives. |

Ah, I still have flashbacks to the "great fire" of '92.
I built a card fortress (pretty damn good it was too, with towers, ramparts and hidden hatches), positioned as many Joes in it, on it and around it as I could, doused a few areas with lighter fluid. You can guess the rest. Needless to say it was glorious, but within the week I was regretting it. I've since replaced all the casualties, but I still miss those 'originals' and I salute every one! Imagine some archeologists unearthing them far into the future and just not 'getting it'. "Some tribal rite" they'd say, as that's the usual excuse.

[QUOTE] sweet lord, that sounds like fun. I think one of the coolest things we ever did as kids was run m-80s and black cats all over our planes and connect the fuses, light them and throw em off the roof. Then it escalated into someone throwing the plane off the roof and the others shooting it with bb guns. Why didn't they have cheap reliable and easy to use cam-corders availible to us?!?!!?

i can't say i ever abused MY joes with explosives. i had no problem helping my neighbors destroy theirs. after all, they were total jerks. i was always able to get my gunpowder fix with firecracker tanks. i did some of this last night:

just imagine how awesome that picture would be with some little people tied to a stake in the middle of it.
